Review 4/30/2008
The results of my experience don't reflect what information I received at the recruiting seminar. While it is true that I signed an agreement with this entity that I understand that they do not guarantee employment as a result of graduating their course, they enthusiastically emphasized that there are plenty of dealers waiting to pay back the heavy tuition fees for graduates eager to get into automotive jobs. This is not the case, and the placement referral center has not provided me with one solid honest lead or any useful help. The truth is that there are not that many referrals out there and also, though this company makes a big presentation at recruitment that sounds like ALL of their referrals will pay tuition reimbursement, they do not. It is unknown the actual percentage of job referrals that are actually connected to a dealer that is willing to pay back tuition. I do not recommend this course of study or career path to anybody. Classes tend to be small and there is a lot of information passed from the instructor to the students, but nothing practical to apply to real world working situations. Placement is touted as being over 90%, yet in the class I attended
5 out of the 5 students who attended did not gain anything beneficial in the way of placement or employment from it. WOW,THAT'S ZERO PERCENT!!! It is a waste of time and money. There are schools out there where a person can learn about auto sales that DON'T COST ANYTHING. There are also dealers out there that will pay promising candidates to train using very detailed and useful curriculum programs. Please exhaust every avenue of research into all plausible options before making a decision to pay for tuition for a course like the one offered at College of Automotive Management. The bottom line is that this is A VERY POOR INVESTMENT. I noticed that nobody has reviewed this company here yet, with wonderful things to say about their investment. The bottom line is you can find other avenues of training that will be of great value to furthering your automotive career that won't cost you any money. I can't be any more honest about that fact.
