Finally helped us take control of our business

SMS gave us the tools to finally take control of our business and where it was headed. We've been growing at a steady pace over the last few years. That's obviously good news, but the growth exposed structural problems we didn't know we had until they started hurting us. Six months ago we started struggling to make payroll. That forced us to slow down and figure out what was going on. After weeks of banging our heads against the wall, we decided to bring in professionals. That's where SMS came in. From day one, Derrick clearly knew what he was doing. He helped us put reporting and processes in place so we finally had an accurate view of the day-to-day health of the company. Derrick gave us a much clearer picture of our running costs and made sure we were financially ready before taking on more projects. We learned we can only grow as fast as our cash flow allows. That's changed how we run the business and how we decide which jobs to sign. The stricter guidelines have cost us some work. But what good is growing if you can't pay your bills? For the first time in a long time, I feel like we're in control of our company instead of the other way around.
