Review 8/27/2009
I contacted Greenleaf Modify in the beginning of March of 2009 in hopes that they could help me modify my outrageous first and second mortgage payments because I was not able to refinance. Everything seemed great in the beginning they were going to help me for $3500 and get both of my payments lowered in a period of 3 months. Well 3 months went by and I made 2 payments totaling $2700 and nothing was done. Not only was there no modification but there were no phone calls updating me or letting me know how close we were. I would call 20 times a week and leave messages with no call backs or I would get ahold of someone who said they weren't involved in my case and said they would contact my person and have them call me with no results. The only phone calls I got were about making my next payment and they would promise me that if I paid my case would be done in 30 days from that point. It's now August 2009 6 months past their deadline and my first mortgage finally got modified because my mortgage company contacted me to tell me that they couldn't get ahold of the people at greenleaf and they hadn't received any of the required paperwork. My mortgage company told me what paperwork they needed and I faxed it over myself and to my surprise I was signing modification papers a week later. I called greenleaf to inform them that I wanted a refund since I did the work myself and they didn't uphold their contract and they refused. They told me the reason it was taking so long was because I was still making my mortgage payments(even though I was struggling to do it) and the banks figured that I didn't really need the help. They refuse to return my money and say that they are still working on the second mortgage but I have yet to hear about any progress.
