Harbor Freight extensively advertises "free items" when other items are purchased. These offers are distributed by mail, email and in-store handouts. In very fine print (often totally illegible) is the condition that in-store quantities are limited. While Harbor Freight Tools looks good from the outside with its low prices and semi good quality products. Harbor Freight Tools lacks anything but good on the inside. Sloppy ran sales that go on when customer service is closed and people cannot order, all the way to store that are consistently out of stock due to slow moving warehouses. Purchased a compressor from them. Got approx 3 hours use out of it. Warranty out by time. Sent money for parts. Never got them. This going on for about 6 months now. Called and they said part is back ordered, however they are still selling the compressor with the part on it that I need. Where are those parts coming from ? Ordered $1000 + goods over their website on their Easter Sales event, but they cancelled it the next day, and said cancelled due to possible fraud, but already got the money from my bank account and need to call them to re-order and confirm over the phone, then I call them to replace my order, and they told me that I have to pay the full price now because of the Event is over, WTF... Ive been going to Harbor Freight Tools of Vineland for a couple years now. Those stores are you get what you pay for. Although i have been a very satisfied customer. Me and my wife attended the Harbor Freight tent sale this weekend. I was very happy with the prices. I purchased an air compressor, welding assesories, and a welder. I have received some good deals from this company. However, I was disappointed when they did not honor their internet add and did not give me a 20% reduction in costs on my order. They said later on that it was an advertising mistake. I complained to them and the complaints went unanswered until I filed a complaint with the BBB in California. I bought a beautiful tool box set for my brother for Christmas when I was visiting him in Delray Beach, FL. The purchase was just shy of $1000, which I don't take lightly! I gave it to him on Christmas eve and when he opened it, one of the smaller pieces (less expensive) was dented on the side. VERY dissapointed in customer service. Got the impression that they don't care that their product was faulty or missing parts. It's going to take about 8 - 10 weeks total for me to receive all the replacement parts. I am unable to utilize the product I purchased from them until I receive the parts. No attempt has been made to make the situation right - i.e. offering to put a "rush" on the replacement parts, offering a credit on my purchase, etc. In this day and age it shouldn't take up to 10... Much of Harbor Freight's merchandise is of relatively poor quality. Some of their tools are serviceable if they're not used heavily. Harbor Freight's shipping department doesn't do much to ensure that merchandise arrives at the customer's location in good condition.
