I've been using NextAlarm.com's monthly alarm monitoring service with a cellular backup option for a couple of years now with my self-installed Honeywell Ademco alarm system and couldn't be happier. I like being in complete control of my NextAlarm.com account through their web site. They offer extensive email or text message alert settings, service is great, and their prices are much less than traditional big-name alarm companies, and there are no long-term contracts to worry about.
