In order to get a claim paid you need to call numerous times to get any resolution. I am still fighting to get a claim filed from over 9 months ago. Also be warned ladies, if you are under forty they will give you a hard time about why you would possibly require a breast MRI or a mammogram at your age. Also unless you hit that magic number of forty they won't even consider paying for a mammo even if it is doctors orders - I just got hit with a bill for 400.00. I have had mor... Read More »

sheryl s. posted a review

This is the worst insurance I have ever had. You pay their outragious premiums and get nothing for it. Everytime I submit a claim I have to fight to get them to pay their portion. Their customer service stinks. You can barely hear them on the phone and half they time you cannot understand them. My son was recently hospitalized. I did everything I was supposed to do, I pre-authorized it, used an in network provider etc. Once admitted, they are now refusing to pay saying he should be in an out-... Read More »

Sue B. posted a review

My premium was due on Dec 1, 2010 but the problem was I never received a statement from anthem and being unemployed someone told me about a program so on Nov 26, 2010 having not received a statement I wrote a letter cancelling as of 12/1/2010 and requested a termination notice which the program needed. I ended up in ER via ambulance on 1/5/2011! anthem decided to send me the termination notice on 1/9/2011 (yes a Sunday) but I didn't receive it un 1/19/2011! According to the state health insur... Read More »

Shawn C. posted a review

Abysmal customer service. I need a statement that shows premiums paid in order to get reimbursed from my Medical Reimbursement Account. Anthem REFUSES to provide this basic information. My MRA can’t accept bank or credit card statements; they accept insurance statements only. Apparently this isn’t a problem with other insurance companies, but Anthem couldn’t care less. Also, good luck getting in touch with anyone over the phone. They don’t answer the phone; they just don’t care. Read More »

Jeff M. posted a review

The one review was exactly right. My parents are on it and my dad has been trying to dis-enroll from it because he has medicaid now. First, they took my mom off, instead of him, per a phone conversation, which they are not authorized to do. he sent authorization forms 4 times and still they can't seem to get their act together. Anthem is one of the worst companies for human interaction and should NOT have the high rating it has. My mother wrote a letter to them last week, again, telling them... Read More »

Ryan F. posted a review

The triple A rating for this company is dubious at best. They have failed to respond to simple questions, and have declined to respond to my BBB inquiry. I suggest filing formal grievances and asking to be connected to the "executive inquiry group" at the very beginning of any dispute, or, in my case, their refusal to provide simple information. They have no interest in resolving problems, they only will attempt to wear you down and get rid of you. Their telephone representatives are powerles... Read More »
