There are good and bad in everything so I will start with the good. Girls up front are nice. Sean and Brian are very nice with good customer service. Machines are ok but outdated and often broken. I have been a member of LA Fitness since October, 2010. I frequent the Huntingdon Valley location. The gym is dirty, especially the restrooms and the pool area, and the equipment is outdated (please see attached pictures). The vents are covered with dust and there are water stains on the ceiling tiles. This is definitely a health hazard. There is a reason why there has been a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT filed against LA Fitness and their personal training contracts. This company has some of the worst business practices I've ever experienced. Their primary concern is the money they collect from you, NOT the personal training they provide, which is mediocre at best. You are just a number to them. LA Fitness left a very bad taste in my mouth after dealing with them!!! They will squeeze as much money out of you as they can. The way they do their contracts should be illegal, they don't even say to read it before you sign it, I signed this little pad thing that's the same that you sign when you slide a credit card and than print it out for you. I recently joined this gym, drawn to its convenient location, relatively fair pricing, and a large, clean facility. As far as providing appropriate equipment to exercise with, the place does its job. However, I have a VERY serious issue with the unprofessionalism that was displayed by their staff in association with a vandalism/theft incident in which TWO phones were stolen right off the basketball court bench from paying members. After 10 years of being a faithful and enthusiastic patron, I am cancelling my membership to LA Fitness. THE "short" version: I added my fiancee to my account last spring. Sometime in early summer, she decided to hire one of the trainers. The trainer was excellent, and my fiancee enjoyed the experience for the few weeks she trained. Recently, I was bullied, lied to, laughed at, and harassed by LA Fitness Manager, Ronald Jones at the St. Louis Park, MN club. I was told by LA Fitness District VP, Nick Hamden, that Jones said "I would rather be rich than right" when asked about my complaint against him.
