We received a letter of intent from this company to collect an invalid debt in July 2012 for defunct Hollywood Video. We wrote them the appropriate notification that this was an invalid debt that we did not owe and a demand letter that they provide contract information and rental agreement with signature of renter which they were unable to do. ARM is acting on behalf of First Term Lenders Liquidating Trust (they bought out Hollywood Video). Check out the following link: http://www.cleveland.com/consumeraffairs/index.ssf/2011/05/hollywood_video_agrees_to_end.html. ARM cannot legally report any supposed debt concerning Hollywood Video to a credit bureau. They can only attempt to collect it. Don't waste your time trying to talk with them. I have filed an official complaint with the FTC 1-877-FTC-HELP today. They are aware of this scam, and advised me to call 1-877-322-8228 to make sure this bogus debt does not go on our credit report - an "annual credit report". The FTC said that ARM is violating the federal "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act." I encourage you to call the FTC at the above number to file a claim! I got another notice from ARM regarding my late charges bill from Hollywood Video. I called to let them know I do not owe this and of course they fought me the entire conversation. Hollywood Video would not let you rent additional videos if you owed late fees and of course 3 years later I'm getting a bill for late charges. I worked at Hollywood for 7 years. We were allowed to rent up to 3 movies free at a time.. but could only rent if we had no late charges. I was shocked when I recieved a notice in the mail saying I owed them $25 in late charges.. One of the charges from Nov 2009.. the second was from Dec 2009. My son and I just received notices from ARM Solutions Inc. for videos that were returned on time in 2009. In fact, they sent a bill for the same video game to both my son and I. My son was an employee of Hollywood Video at the time the videos and games were rented. He was meticulous about returning videos and games on time, because it could effect his employment if he didn't. I called ARM and told them this. They insist that we pay. I received a 100 bill for late fees. As mentioned you know you don't get to rent movies if you don't pay your late fees. I also received a letter saying I owe money to Hollywood Video. There is no way I owe this company any money. If anything they should owe me for all the points I had paid for that were on my account when they closed. I didn't see them adding me to their bankruptcy filing so that I would get back the money they received for my membership. I also received a collection bill from Arm Solutions dated 12-29-11. I don't owe Hollywood one red cent. It stated on the bill that these were charges from 4-13-09 to 2-9-10. Okay everyone who has rented from Hollywood knows the drill. You have to pay your late fees before you can rent more movies! I have always paid my fees every time I checked out new movies. I received a bill from ARM Solutions today for $118 for past due charges from Hollywood Video. I did not owe a single penny to Hollywood Video when they closed. I don't know what kind of scam ARM is running, but they should be ashamed. I will take this to court if I have to, but I am definitely NOT PAYING a penny to a debt collector that I do not owe. I resently received a call from this company on a claim 2 years old from hollywood video. They said i had 4 days to pay a ludacris 140 dollar late fee at hollywood video which went out of business 2 years ago. I can say with all honesty i did not owe them 1 penny. I stopped by the only store i ever rented from 5 days prior to closing and paid my remaining late fee which was just over 3 dollars.
