Once again, problems with childcare-first of all, the gym has improved a lot along with the staff and most the childcare employees are absolutely fantastic, but the managers of the childcare have been a pain continuously. I have been a member of the Rush on Hendersonville Rd. for 2+ years. I find the equipment along with the facility is rarely cleaned. When 5 of the sani-wipe containers were removed I inquired to the manager who told me it was "to save money"! Now you have to walk 3 isles over to get a wipe in order to clean the equipment. This place is a joke. Not only do they have hidden fees left and right, they use your credit card number without telling you. After joining and having a 2 year membership with my mother, we had even bought and USED personal sessions, when our membership was OVER and CANCELLED, her credit card was charged for four months worth of time. Was told I was signing up for a 1 year membership (contract even said twelve months) but later after contacting customer service they informed me it was for 2. Purchased and PAID for personal training sessions due to health issues - that to this day (over a year later) I still have not received. Classes are awesome - if you don't work 8 am to 8 pm - then your out of luck. "childcare" is little more than a teenager on a cell phone with your child watching videos on a television... The Rush - Patton is a clean, vibrantly colored facility that offers 24/7 access to fitness machines and a wide range of fitness classes taught by competent and enthusiastic instructors. The facility includes a heated, salt water pool, steam room, sauna, and private workout space for women. These were the things that drew me in. I go to the one on Hendersonvile Road-here are two hubs I wrote, and here is this: just want to put this out there about The Rush Fitness Complex-do not get stuck in a gym contract until reading every line in front of the instructor selling it. I got a great price, the facility is great, but it is obvious that it is a big gym business-almost reminds me of the Ben Stiller gym in "Dodge Ball," with some of the same bad music. I workout at Hendersonville Rd and I love it! It's peaceful and the staff is very friendly there is three employees I really like I do not remember thier names they work on the front desk very friendly sweet girls but I know one of them is a Zumba instructor blonde headed young girl and the other one is a spanish girl very sweet nice smile, and the other girl is short young long brown hair usually works at nights. i go to the patton ave location. but i have experienced pretty much the same thing. first of all the upfront fees are outrageous! i have never had to pay so much just to start a membership in my life. i was told i would be charged 29 a month. they failed to mention i would be billed 72 dollars the first two months in addition to paying 200+ up front. i told them when i signed up that the credit card information was going to change. i went into the gym and told the desk girl in person to chang... The RUSH is out for nothing EXCEPT your money!!! Do NOT sign up for their services because you are in it "for life". They forget to tell you how long you are signing a contract for and as a member of several other gyms previously, I was always told how long my contract was for and it was always NO problem to get out of it. We've had a TERRIBLE experience with the Rush and canceling our contract. When we signed up we were told that we could cancel our contract free of charge if we moved more than 30 miles from the gym. As long as we provided a utility bill, a lease agreement, or proof of employment in our new location - we could get out of the contract. RUN the other way to the YMCA. I just moved to town and was told I won a 1-month free membership. After the glorious gym tour, THE HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTICS which are borderline illegal were used to get me to sign the contract. THEY ALSO FAILED TO VERBALLY TELL ME IT WAS 24 months! We only talked about 3 months and they breezed over th2 24 of the contract. I saw the 24 months when I got home and immediately went in the next day.
