Now that we put in a claim against the trans it is suddenly 18 months. Do NOT buy from this company. I put it in my 56 Willys wagon with a Holly Avenger EFI system. The wagon runs strong, burns rubber when I want and the engine is very smooth.

I have seen some bad reviews on this company but I have had a great experience. Read More »

Matthew D. posted a review

Engine vibrates terribly. Like everyone said slick sales people terrible customer support people. They will not fix it unless I pay to have it pulled and shipped. Then they will inspect it and decide if it's defective. Terrible, terrible, ethics.

Every oil change and service was done as required. Of course the 3 year warranty had expired. AS the vehicle looked like new, I decided to replace the engine.

My local carquest ordered the engine which was to have been in stock and ready for immediate shipment, it arrived 3 weeks later. LIE NUMBER 1

Engine was installed by my mechanic and seemed to be fine, fuel economy and power was about like the factory engine. But tha... Read More »

Brandon M. posted a review

I purchased an ATK engine for a dodge 2001 5.2 L through my local carquest in April of 2012. I am an ASE certified master mechanic. I am also a Chrysler certified mechanic. I do not work for Dodge anymore but do work for a licensed mechanic shop. I installed this excellent Mexico built engine in my own garage and upon first start up it had a slight knocking/ticking sound. It almost sounded like a lifter tick so I pulled one valve cover off and found no problems. After I finished up I decided... Read More »

william s. posted a review

First off: Stay away from this company... Second: Read this review and the others. It seems they are eager to sell (good slick sales folks) but their customer service and support is horrible. Brand new $6000 408 Windsor arrives, is installed two years ago and immediately shoots oil out of a hole in the block on the drivers bank. Turns out it has an open hole in the block that should have been tapped and plugged. Mechanic tore the header and exhaust off the "new" engine and drilled, tapped, an... Read More »

Anna P. posted a review

We bought a new (re-manned) engine in 11/2009. Late 2010 we started having issues. Took it to 2 different shops and it turned out there was a problem with the engine. They were able to fix it. ATK only pays $50 per hour on labor... No one in South Florida chages that. That is half of what it costs. So I paid $450.00. Then in early 2011 the truck broke down. After 5 different mechanics and close to $500 in diagnostic fees, finally someone had the guts to suggest it was the engine. So I called... Read More »

Bruce C. posted a review

Since December 2007, I have had two ATK re-built engines installed and both were defective with bottom end noise. ATK replaced the first with a second defective engine with bottom end noise but refuses to refund or replace with a reliable engine. My vehicle has been in the garage for over three years, and I am out over $3,000. Strongly suggest caution when dealing with this company. Read More »

Benjamin H. posted a review

DO NOT BUY A MOTOR FROM ATK, CHECKER / O'REILLY AUTO PARTS...
