I had a water damage after 10 years with company. Claim adjuster John McLaughlin was easy to deal with and answered promptly any concerns. Settlement was what I expected. Do not know what future holds with company--it seems all insurance companies are quick to get rid of you if you had a claim--but I will know in a couple of months. I made contact with Western Mutual Insurance Company in May, 2008, having found a very favorable rating of them on the website of the California Insurance Commissioner. I went to the Commissioner's website to find an insurance company after eliminating other insurance companies for one reason or another. I was hugely pleased with Western Mutual's service. I was a bit unenchanted with them. The first rep I spoke with was speaking at lightning speed, very curt, didn't ask probing questions, and ended up completely misunderstanding my situation and practically hung up on me thinking we didn't qualify based on a technicality that she had misunderstood because she had not given me a chance to explain and didn't take in all the facts.
