Unbelievable. 2 clogged sinks, guy comes in and looks at them for 2 minutes, goes back to his truck and comes in with an invoice I can't read a single word of, and wants $3500. I asked if he could just snake the sinks and he talks down to me. Rude, overpriced, and illiterate. Kitchen faucet leaking. I stripped threads on plastic quick disconnect when trying to repair. Called Mike because they had done quick drain unclog at reasonable price. For a new quick disconnect and labor to reattach under sink they charged me $430 including a $76 service call charge. I asked for a breakout of parts and labor but they wouldn’t provide. Wow. Over the phone they offered fast, courteous service and said that they couldn't quote me a price for replacing a toilet right there because they needed to see it. They said it would be $76 for a truck roll and that would be waived if I did any work. The day of the plumber was supposed to arrive at 1PM or shortly thereafter. I made an appointment with Mike Diamond. They sent me 2 plumbers from George Brazil, their "sister company". Bate and switch? The technician was load, obnoxious, arrogant and pushy. I felt bullied into letting them do the work. They charged me $1,000.00 to replace a kitchen faucet. That was more than twice the price I've paid in the past. I feel scammed. You know when you hire the carpet cleaners and they say 5 rooms for $80.00 and then they get to your house and it's $105.00 because they determine the small room you have separated into an eating area and tv watching area are 2 room.. bs. I would never, ever call these guys again. They state their flat rate is going to be $75 for a house call and then you can't get them out of your house with out paying them $200! They routinely try and pressure the customer into turning what should be a $300 dollar job into a $3,000 dollar job. I had them out to fix a heater, job should have been a few hundred and they asked thousands. No wonder they have such nice trucks, they are robbing their customers! I called Mike Diamond after seeing the $99 ad. They came out in the time frame they said they would. The plumber was clean, respectful and smelled good. BUT, when he handed me his written estimate for 1) unstopping the clog in our bathroom sink and 2) changing the p-trap in the same sink, I knew it was at least 3 times what it should be. The short version is that I received a quote on a shower fix from Mike Diamond plumbing for $2,210. I called another plumber, who eventually fixed the problem in 20 minutes for $120. People need to know about the business practices of "Mike Diamond", whoever that may be. I got sucked in by the "Smell Good Plumber" ads. Called and got an appointment right away. The guys who showed up were very nice. Under sink drain conection. $75 to come and give a quote. $1174.55?? But they gave me 15% off - $998.37 wow what a bargain. Look under your sink. Lesson learned: check BBB and other online sites first. They gyped me. PLENTY. $500 to pull up toilet, replace wax ring, replace flex hose I had installed 2 years ago brand new. TRIED to sell me a $600 new toilet. TRIED to sell me a $99/year service contract (do they think I'm going to need a plumber that often?!) I called Mike Diamond plumbing and they said they could come out the same day which was good, but that's where the good ends. My plumbing wasn't backed up, just running slow and I knew what it was....tree roots. I called Mike Diamond Plumbing Inc. because the control handle for my bathtub's water source had broken off. Up pulled a George Brazil truck - they are now under the same owners. I let Mike Diamond come in and make $5,000 worth of repairs only to find out later from a different plumbing company they would have charged $2,000. The worst part? Mike Diamond's crew ruined our heating system while repairing the plumbing and it cost of $11,000 to repair the damage they caused. Would they act responsibly and repair the heating system? On Friday 9/25/09 in the early afternoon I call Mike Diamond Plumbing for a total clean out on a home that I manage. I have a brand new tenant that the wife is 3 months pregnant and we have a clog in the kitchen area. I sent the following to this company today Sept 12, 2009. "On Thursday, September 10 I contacted your company about replacing an anti—siphon valve. I was very specific about what I needed done and wanted to be sure that they would have available a valve when they came. On June 12,2009, my Mother called Mike Diamond Plumbing to check a water leak from her toilet. She got their phone number from the phone book. When the service man arrived, it was determined that there was a faulty fill valve in the tank and a disconnected flex hose, which is all one item. This company advertises that they will clear a drain for $99.00. When the plumber arrived he was unabler to clear the drain and had requested their drain clog specialist to fix the problem. When the "specialist" arrived he said that a portion of the wall behind the sink would have to be removed and some pipes would have to be replaced and that the repairs would cost $509.00. I had a problem with a leaking bathroom faucet which occurred after I had installed it. I was in a rush to get it fixed as I had company coming over for the weekend. I wish I could give 0 stars, or even better, a negative. The drain for our washer was backing up, it happens often as this is an old house. In addition, the kitchen faucet was dripping. Sewer line backs up and I decided to call (what I thought was) a reputable company. They are a sister company of George Brazil. All prices are based on a chart which (secretly) adds an insurance amount in case they mess up. The price to put in a 4" cleanout using about 5 feet of ABS piping plus the digging up of about 6 feet was over $2000. The price to replace the remaining 20+ feet would have been an additional $4700. Couldn't get my water heater pilot light to light.. told MikeDiamond that it might be the thermo-coupler since it had been replaced in the past. Mike Diamond plumber quoted a price to fix an upstairs toliet leak that was leaking through the ceiling to the downstairs apartment. He stated it was a flange and bend that was bad. Price was $1,600. I called my plumber next day and found it was the bolts holding the tank to the toliet that was leaking. The cost was the service charge of $60.00 for my plumber. Received a quote to replace 50gal water heater and hardpipe to/from the water heater (technician said it was necessary to bring it up to code. The house is only 6 yrs old and is up to code) for $2381.20. The price sounded unusually high for a water heater replacement so I immediately called a local, reputable company and they quoted at half the price.
