Called Gentle dental to set up a wisdom tooth extraction with anesthesia. On the day of procedure,I asked if I owe anything just to be sure and was told no charge is needed. I understood this that the dental benefits were verified and would cover all of the 5 minute procedure. I have a problem is with a crown placed over an implant. The original tooth had to be removed because of problems with my gums which started because of ‘food pockets’ around the tooth which contributed to gum disease and bone loss. Before treatment began I was assured these pockets would be eliminated with the implant and crown. The implant and crown have been installed. I filed a complaint against this office and dentist. The corporate response was the standard of care was followed and they can not comment further because of HIPPA laws. If the standard of care as followed why are they being investigated by the insurer, the dental board, and the department of consumer affairs. I am awaiting judgement from these entities before I pursue further legal actions in regard to the care given. This office performed an unnecessary dental procedure on a minor child. Th... I had been going to this office for about 4 years or so and was never really confident of their practices, but not having had any obvious issues I kept putting off taking the time to check things carefully...I finally did review my insurance and saw that this office had overcharged me on my last two visits for services that were in fact covered by my plan. All services that were provided from Gentle Dental were of poor quality and have resulted in me having to go to another service provider to have the work repaired at greater personal cost. Multiple cavities were not filled correctly which has resulted in either a re-filling and in 2 cases, a full rootcanal.
