This company is horrible. I'm surprised they're still in business! Initially, they give you an exorbitant price to see if you fall for it. If you don't, they come down in price and tell you not to tell anyone what your price is. I purchased three windows probably somewhere around 2006. The windows are called Magic Windows. The summer seasons would cause our home's paint to peel and crack in many areas of the walls. Our first step of action was probably the only one we will need to make. We needed a company that would be okay with completing a patio cover job in our backyard. The strong winds in the city had caused much damage over the years. These guys are absolute professionals. Not only did Pacific Home Remodeling install it the way that we wanted them to, but it has been put on with the highest qualities of materials, which is very evident as we are able to hang heavy ornaments from underneath it. Our garage doors were probably some of the greatest annoyances in our home. The straggling noises and functioning were sure to give us a headache just about every day. This company should be avoided without question. If they get your number you will be getting calls from them for years. They gave us an endless sales presentation and it was after midnight before I could get them out of my house after giving me an outrageous cost quote. Since then, more than a year, I have had countless sales calls that no amount of pleading will stop. Do NOT give them your phone number. I should've researched this company more before signing up a contract. The sales person came in and simply read off of a power point presentation - literally word by word. It seemed so fake. These guys came over to my house one weekend and would not leave--2 salesmen for over 3 hours! My wife and I were held captive in our own house. SERIOUS HIGH PRESSURE SALES PEOPLE. After we got them to leave, they called every week for several months, then every month, then every 2 months. OMG.... The sales guy was at my house over 3 1/2 hours and wouldn't leave until I purchased Magic Windows. He started with a price for 4 windows at 7800, to 5500 to 4800 if I signed today! These people are CRAZY- STAY AWAY- The salesman would stay for dinner if I offered. These people will do anything for the business! I'm a previous Sales Rep (not an employee) for this company. Some of the positive reviews that I've read I can tell are completely bogus and trying to give an impression that they are a good company. The sales tactics they teached us are nothing but misleading lies to the homeowners! Homestar Builders like their counterpart Pacific Home Remodeling won't stop harassing you for business once they have your info. Here is how it worked for me. For the purpose of competition with another company, these guys came out to my house at least 4 times, got me into a contract, collected $1000 check and charged my credit card for about half of the project cost (around $5000). A few days later, their manager called me and told me that they can not commit to my project and informed me that they are out of the contract. So be careful with those guys. I have been dealing with Pacific Home Remodeling since approx. April of 2008. I should have known that this was going to be something of a nightmare when the salesman was at my home for over 3 hours trying to get me to sign a contract for $12,500 to paint a 900 square foot California Bungalow house. Be careful of this company. The call center, sales reps, field reps are super aggressive. They are all about bait-and-switch. What they say over the phone changes when they meet you in person. They ended up quoting me over $1,000 to install EACH new window--that's triple what everyone else is quoting. Hard pressure salesman. Had to sign that date or price would go up. Promised total satisfaction of workmanship/installation by expert factory trained (ATRIUM) workmen. Would inspect work by senior technician and repair, replace to my total satisfaction. None of this is true. Work was done sloppy, no cover for wood floor or furniture. A sales rep from PHR called us to set up an appointment for tex-cote and windows. We finally agreed to meet with them for a window replacement quote because we were told that they were offering 10% off RIGHT NOW and rebates for a limited time also the quote would be good for 18 months. I wish I had read the reviews before I let these people come to my house. After being harassed four times a day by phone, I too was told it would take an hour and it took over two hours. The punchline was that if I purchased today the work on my house would be $28K. After today it would be $41K. I met these folks at the home show in Anaheim. They said if I let them give me a quote within a week, I would get 50% off and my quote would be valid for two years from the date it was written. They called and made an appt. for Saturday and told me it would take an hour. If you see this company at home show of some sorts DO NOT give them any of your information. You will be put on their telemarketing list and receive unlimited calls no matter how many times you say you are no longer interested and to take your name off the list.
