At 10 am I had a service appointment with Service Champions. At 1pm I had bought a new furnace and around 2 pm 2 men arrived to install it. They were kind, friendly and within 4 hours I ha d a new, fully installed furnace and the house was cleaner then before they had started! I was warned by family members re this company before I called back for the FREE CHECK UP sometime in early 2011. I was told that they used to be a member paying monthly dues. But, the fact, is that every time a Tech comes, they always find something to change or problems. Ryan and Steve from Service Champions were very professional and overall attitude in the duct replacement at my home, even though the temperature in the attic had to be over 80 degrees! I would give zero stars if I could. I gave this company a try because they advertised on FSH95.9. Big mistake. The tech came out and stated that I needed to have my entire duct system replaced due to extensive rat damage, install a power pack on the A/C system because it was pulling too many amps at startup, and replacing the breaker because it was bad. I want to know why I was charged $318.00 (stated as a discount from $425) for a dual run capacitor for my Bryant air conditioner? There are some 4 digit codes accompanying the capacitor listing on the invoice which were not explained to me. This seems to be an exorbitant markup to cover an installation that took only a few minutes. I see these units for sale online for approximately 1/8 to 1/10 of that price. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this company. I trusted them to install a new furnace and AC unit on 12-16-10. At the time of the sale I was told I would get a Lennox system. After the installation was complete I found out that they installed a system manufactured by Amana. I called Service Champions for a regular check-up and told the office I thought I needed a new thermostat. The service tech looked at my heating unit and told me the wiring was a problem and the motor was dripping oil and the 9 year old unit would need major repairs or replacement. The technician that came to service my unit was more of a salesperson than a technician. He would start recommending me to buy a new unit even before than he started to look a my unit.
