I have a long list; AccuPOS cannot split payments; you have to do the math outside the system and then enter it. If you have a Server with transactions after midnight it will not transport to your accounting and they say they cannot adjust the clock. Servers that are used to other systems have to slow down so it doesn't lock up. A Server can transfer a check to another server but it still reads open on their X out, preventing them from a Z out. Our company needed to make the switch from traditional cash register operations to a touch screen POS system. After doing a lot of research on the available systems, we decided on AccuPos. The switch was seamless, the software easy to use and the hardware works like a charm! Tech support is available all all hours and customer service couldn't be better. Bought the big bundle. Computer support - Well that was a joke. Waited days while the system was down until they had available time. Hardware Bundle: Hardware was far under powered. $1700 and comes with a 32GB Hard drive? 2 GB of RAM and a 32 bit OS. System can hardly hold windows updates yet alone a full POS database. I purchased this product with the hope of using it for a new bar concept. First off their sales team are liars. I was sold a ton of features that appeared in the demos, but then were completely absent in the product. Then while trying to get the application to work, their support was completely unable to get their own product to work on a brand new $2,000 server. I have not had the most success in communicating my requests to AccuPos' Customer Service Department over the past year. I have sent many emails and left voicemails for level 2 support when I have come across serious limitations in the software for my business needs. I was told by CS Reps to leave a message or send an email with my request for consideration of a future upgrade/fix. Accupos is borderline useless as a restaurant POS system. Support is poor (if you can get someone on the phone) and inconsistent with their answers. The reports provided by the software are completely inadequate to manage a restaurant (e.g. - No way to find out how many covers you have served on any report that I can find, no way to look at reports based on days of the week, hours of the day, reports are not printable on the receipt printer, the list goes on and on). We first installed AccuPOS in 2007 to interface with Peachtree accounting software. The setup staff was very quick and professional. I will not say we did not have problems as we used the system, but we found the tech support people very knowledgeable about the details of the inner-workings of their product. I don't have enough time or energy to go into all the problems but long story short, their tech support people come and go regularly and one will make a mistake that another tries to fix but not before you pay a large fee. The transfer via the "simply adapter" to my accounting program only works some of the time and has created a discrepency in my GL because if it doesn't work on a particular day only one side of the journal entry is made. I help to manage a small school spirit shop at a Catholic High school in urban Kansas City, KS. We have an Accupos point of sale system in this spirit shop which is run by my students. The POS is very user friendly and the students have been able to help customers ring up their items with little training. The customer service at Accupos is also 1st rate. We were looking for a low-cost POS that could handle the volume of a $500-750K/year restaurant. AccuPOS doesn't offer custom setup - even if you buy the hardware from them. We had ordered two computers from them - they sent pre-imaged machines with the exact same network name - a big no-no for setup within a Windows network. This product was supposed to save us so much time, and it got such great reviews, that our small business invested the several thousand dollars in it to save my husband and I from all the accounting nightmares we faced. Too many problems. Sales and Techs "forget" to tell me the things I needed before I could even install the system. Most of our credit card tips don't go to the bank because of the software. To top it off you can hardly get on the phone with them, and when you do and theres a problem they can't fix they say a "Level 2 Tech will Call" but never does.
