I just had the worst experience with them. They have zero customer care... After only using the service once 6 months ago, they rejected my request of cancelling the auto-renewal because I didn't file within 30 days in advance, which was NOT clearly specified when I signed up to it. I had my wife's and my wills done by Legal zoom. Although both looked correct when we reviewed them I discovered major errors when I went to probate for my wife. Yes, they did help me complete my forms required for my LLC. But I DID NOT KNOW they would continue to intermittently charge me hundreds of dollars over the next 3 years. Manipulation, lies, mislead, would not provide refund once you have made a cancelation they block your number and email to ignore your repetitive calls especially if they owe you money. They'll tell you that the provide certain services for certain fees, not telling you about reoccurring charges and if you cancel they'll tell you they'll provide a refund and they'll tell you to call six different departments, only to avoid your calls. I choice Legalzoom from a recommendation from a friend of mine. I had plenty of time for them to meet my goal to start my business date of Oct 1, 2019. Well how wrong was I. I got them to set me up a LLC on 7/12/19, I got their legal package, total compliance and registered agent package.. I wanted a simple Power of Attorney and a will. Something that would look professional as opposed to Office Max documents (and nothing wrong with OM documents, they APPEAR less than professional. I used Legal Zoom to help a client set up an S-corp in South Carolina. This can be done instantly if you go online. It has been almost a month and they are still showing us in "delayed" status. They did not have to get a federal tax ID, but simply set up the Articles of Incorporation, and still haven't been able to do it, despite having all required information. I signed up for a free trial of the business compliance calendar. When I decided I didn't want to use it I used the account section of the website and pressed the cancel button. Thinking it was cancelled I was charged a week later. I logged back into the site and it says the sub is still active! Pressing cancel does little more than refresh the page. They advertise an LLC for about $149.00 I added a few options and opted to pay over 3 months. This was going to put me approx. $181.00each month over 3 months. Quite a bit more than the $149.00 I started out with but-ok I added options. Since then the have over drafted my bank account 3 times with no warning about hidden fees. So i paid all of this money for them to get my LLC filed and official through the govt. BUT nothing all all for the state EIN or tax id's for my state. Pretty much all of their services have hidden, recurring fees that will automatically be charged to your card without per-authorization of any kind. I called to cancel the recurring charges and they charged me again later that same day, even after I had already received a cancellation notice email from them. I paid $300 for divorce paperwork. When I received the completed copy in the mail, it looked like a child typed it up. There are spacing issues, spelling errors, and other errors, including putting my date of birth where my child's date of birth should be. I was assured that LegalZoom would thoroughly proofread the document before sending it out. Obviously, that did not happen. I could have easily done this myself. I was very happy with legalzoom until the monthly charges just kept coming. Once they have your credit card they will continue to charge you. Read the very fine print! I used LegalZoom to process a legal name change in January 2013. The process was painless in every way. The price was much better than hiring an attorney and paying large court fees. I spent less than $300 (including filing/court/amendment to birth certificate fees) from start to finish and I'm more than pleased with how easy it was. A) the information I e-mailed them was not include even though a customer derive rep assured me it would be during 2 different calls. B) information that was on the form was different than that I gave them. C) I have e-mailed and called multiple times. My mom had a trust done with the company a couple of years ago. It was apparently simple for her, which i will grant you. However last month i had my lawyer look at it and it turned out that it basically wasn't effective-trusts are complicated things it turns out and that she never fully understood it. I originally had a good opinion of legalzoom when I signed up but now i found out they have been charging me monthly for a service I did not request. Be aware that they will charge you monthly services unless you specifically opt out of it.
