Like others, I’d give CRA zero stars if that were an option. Stay away! Read on if you want to hear about our awful experience. We’re members of Resort Parks International (RPI) and as such should have been able to book a reservation at Cherry Valley Lakes Resort in Beaumont, CA. We didn’t get a response to our calls to RPI so we called CRA. We were told that we would get 5 days and 4 nights for free if we would take the sales pitch on Thursday, our last day. We have been CRA members for 4 years. Lots pf promises, little followup to make things right. 1. We get 2 weeks free out of every 3 weeks. Sounds good on paper. But wait - check the fees for that 3rd week. Its gone from $100 to $360. OUCH on a retired income. 2. Our rig needs 50A power, they only offer 30A for the vast majority of the sites, and the 50A places are always overbooked, and none are closer than 150 yards from the water at the river. 3. I would have given CRA 0 stars if there was a choice... Buyer Beware! con artists for salesmen..they don't come any smoother. Their campgrounds are overcrowded and dirty. you wont get the services their promising you and you wont get to camp anytime you want..as I was promised. don't buy! I have invested thousands in my membership and would sell it in a heartbeat if I could..for pennys on the dollar.. Read More »

My wife and I are retired, planning to purchase an RV, and are reviewing various camping options, memberships, organizations, etc. We received a call last week from a salesman at Colorado River Adventures offering prizes to attend a sales presentation (NO OBLIGATION) at their Havasu Springs Resort near Parker, AZ. All I can say about CRA (Emerald Cove) is know EXACTLY what you're signing up for. I've been through many similar sales presentations but these folks are a real piece of work. Shady and scandalous would be an understatement. I was a member from 2006 until recently when I transferred my membership. CRA did their absolute best to keep me out of that transfer meeting telling me to just send my buyer with the transfer fee and documentation and they were happy to handle the transfer. When I did... Don't even think about becoming a member of this group. EVERY YEAR THERE IS A NEW FEE, A DIFFERENT STORY AND TOTAL RUDENESS. We paid cash for our membership and had to fight tooth and nail to get out of the contract. These people love to fight over money. That's all it's about, money. They could care less about people. With our new RV we got an invitation to spend 3 days at the Emerald Cove Resort on the lower Colorado river if we agreed to listen to a sales presentation for 90 minutes. Along with the free stay we were offered $100 gas voucher and several additional stays at the resort. What we were not told are the restrictions that came with the gas voucher and the additional stays. Those restrictions were such that we decided not to bother any more. After purchasing a coach we were offered a free one year membership. Plus a $100 gas voucher a free Samsung galaxy tablet and a $200 special bonus gift. We found out we had to sit through a 2 hour sales pitch to buy in. First of all they didn't even tell us. When this pitch was so we booked a boat rental for the day. WOW, all of these other reports I read are exactly what my significant other and me experienced this weekend. Except the manager was so rude and insulting that he threatened to call the Sheriff on us because we were questioning his awful customer service. It was so insulting to treated so rude and disrespectful. If that is their idea of a first impression I am thankful that is as far as I ever got with that company. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS! This place offered my family a free stay for promotional purposes, and THE DAY BEFORE our vacation there, they called to tell me we can't go because they can't have any more families!!!!!!! What the heck? They sent me a confirmation letter and email 2 weeks ago confirming everything - we took off work - our kids are leaving school early - and NOW (the day before we go) they tell me that they booked too many families!!!!!! Be sure to read every word and get promises in writing -- like reciprocal memberships are only $10 per night. After I signed a short-term contract, I learned that Coast to Coast policy is that members must BUY points to get that low RV fee per night at their campgrounds. The statement that this company is in the RV and Campground service business is false! Given the high pressure tactic of the sales staff ( buy now or you will pay full price and you can't come back for 2 years? ),their poorly maintained campgrounds( Emerald Cove & Cherry Valley Lakes Resort? and North Shore). We went to an RV show & entered a raffle..won a netbook, $100 gas rebate certificate, free golfing, free boat slip, and twenty free day/nights. The only thing we had to do was sit through a presentation for thier sales/marketing...no problem. According to the sales rep we met the financial criteria to be eligible and a date was scheduled.
