I was a member of Riverside County Schools Credit Union aka Altura Credit Union which I am a member of. Since Altura has taken over Riverside County Schools, Altura places no value on customer service. Members do pay Altura's staff's salary. I called to share with the credit union when I dial 951-684-7228's circuits were busy and I was unable to speak to anyone at Altura. I have been with this bank for year and at first they were great. Now that has changed. This bank runs similar to B of A. They fee you to death and their customer service is horrible. I can't tell you how many times I had to wait in super long lines because there was only one or two tellers. If you deposit a payroll over 4000.00 you have to get it approved each time which can take time because it has to be done by a manager. My new bank only if it's over $50,000. I have been with Altura for more than 40 years......since it was the Teacher's credit Union. They used to be wonderful and now I'm just an account number. I have purchased cars through them and have multiple 6 figure savings accounts with them. They do not wire international money so I have to go to another bank. I was a member for over twenty years. After too many mistakes, poor encounters with customer service, and unsatisfactory resolutions to most problems, I contacted management and said I would be removing all of my funds. No one tried to stop me or ask how they could help. . Apparently my deposits and loans were not valued. I am changing banks as soon as possible they really don't take care of their customers and its very sad because I have been banking with the credit union for a while. I had some problems with the bank I don't feel like sharing in detail, I just recommend using a different bank. Read More »

After 10yrs of loyal banking they refuse to return a their fee of $30.00 when it was their error. I was online transferring money and their system kicked me out to charge me $30.00 for a $3.00 charge that had been pending for 3 days that came in at the same time a unauthorized charge occurred. This company makes their money through deceitful and outright bad business! I started a "FREE" checking in good faith with account with Altura Credit Union in August of last year. I was told there wouldn't be any checking fees. I just had to pay a sign up fee which was around $10.00 and was told I didn't have to pay any more. I have banked with Altura for the past 10 years and until recently I was satisfied with their service. In July of 2010 I made a large deposit and the teller deposited the funds into the wrong account. I discovered the mishap after I was charged NSF charges. I returned to the bank and the funds were placed in my account immediately. October 19, 2010 Attention Mark Hawkins / President and CEO Altura Credit Union On 10-8-10 My Wife made a Deposit of $5,000 to open a New Account. At the time in the Moreno Valley Branch I was treated with the upmost respect and consideration. Wow!! Hand Shake and Smiles even a Cup of Coffee. Last month I visited the Altura CU branch on 14th Street in Riverside, it was a Saturday and I wanted to deposit a check. As usual I filed out the deposit slip and waited for a teller to be available. Finally at about 12:40pm I was finally helped by a teller who made the deposit in less than 2 minutes gave me my receipt and had me out the door. I went into Altura yesterday to dispute charges made on my account. I even brought in a copy of my bank statement they provide on their website. I first asked Diana Burnett,(who works there) what is the courtesy pay feature and does that mean as of July 1st I would have to enroll or opt-in for it? she tells me yes and asked if I would like to opt-in. I called to get information that I was previously given mis-information about and I was treated with extreme disrespect, constant interrupting, mocking, and the poorest customer service I have ever received. This was from Brenda the branch manager. She wouldn't even let me finish a sentence. Finally I asked for her supervisors number and she gave me the customer service number for the bank instead of the next person up the corporate ladder. I recently had a concern with Altura CU due to their assesment of $90 in charges to my account. After complaining to the Better Business Bureau and posting my concerns on this forum they refunded the fees back to my account. Thanks Altura from a longtime customer. Read More »
