They do not honor their words! and tell you a different story every time. like "there is so much demand in the market and no supply", "We have no control over supply", "we got the shipment today, it has everything but what you ordered" They took more than 4 weeks to get a bullion coin, after taking the money upfront. I went to "AAA Gold Exchange Cash For Your Gold" in Torrance, prior to visiting South Bay Gold with my gold and silver coins. There was only one very unfriendly person (didn't even greet until I did, after I sat in the chair) at that location. No lab, tested all with acid. the website says they buy 2 carat gemstones so i brought my emerald in and the guy with the goatee basically threw back in my face and said why would i be interested in this.i said because your website said you buy 2 carat gemstones.he said no,just keep it.i guess if you don't have a 10 carat D flawless diamond don't even bother wasting your time with these guys. Don't believe their on-line purchase price for US gold coins - they are looking for coins with big numismatic value at those prices. They offered me $200 less than their on-line price for AU-53 Liberty gold pieces. I came away feeling dirty, and certainly didn't sell to them - Save your gas - don't drive to these tiny shops. Though the folks at S.BayGold were pleasant, and by no means rude, their follow up calls/emails/shipment of coins was VERY poor. I ordered coins by phone and was told I would receive an email confirmation as soon as they received the funds. It took them a week to send me such email. I would highly recommend to anyone buying or selling gold and/or diamonds. Very polite and professional owner and staff. I have sold my scrap and non-scrap jewelry to South Bay Gold on several occasions. There is only one jeweler in the So-Cal area that pays as much but I would sell mine for less just to avoid their bad service. I say a billboard on the 405 for South Bay Gold. It stated that it had the highest gold pay out. I must say that I was very pleased with the amount that I received for my old gold and silver.
