Whatever you do stay away from this company! They sent a person out to repair my fan, the guy drops the fan and breaks it so I now need a new fan ok simple enough. He leaves to get a new fan, now the new fan doesn't fit where the old fan goes so he calls the warranty company to let them know he needs to add a larger box that holds the fan in place. THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT. MY FIRST CALL FOR AIR CONDITIONER SERVICE AFTER PAYING THE 1 YEAR FEE OF $744. CHARGING MY AIR CONDITIONER ON A 100 DEGREE DAY WAS DECLINED. Had A/C compressor go out on a Thursday. Someone came on Friday to check it, needed a new compressor. It is now Monday and someone might be here to repair it tomorrow. We have home warranty with them from buying our house. Last night, 11/29/2012 at around 6 pm our kitchen flooded due to plumbing stoppage and water is gushing from the toilet in the half-bath close to the kitchen. This company sales person provided false information regarding their home warranty plans and their coverage. They are good company if you just pay your monthly premium, but if you make a claim they try to find a loop hole to not cover your case. I have had American Homeshield and had minor issues with their service, so I decided to try First American Home Buyers because they were cheaper also. We have been going back and forth with this company trying to get our heat and air fixed. They made US pay for a compressor, then it was bad and had to be replaced. Recently it stopped blowing. Bottom line: this is a company you can not trust or depend on. Was a happy customer and even advocate for the previous 5 years. I mostly used them for minor repairs handled in a single visit. Their business model is to fix the minor repairs and then stall as long as possible with the major claims. Insurance is a risk and sometimes you come out ahead. You will never come out ahead with this company. When something major happens, you will be weeks without water, ac, or refrigerator. They are awful. Apathetic customer service, have been with them for 5 years, agree with an earlier post that they are getting worse over the years. I've just made my third claim for my air conditioning not working. Today is August 29, 2011 and the temperature today is supposed to get up to 106 degrees. The first contractor assigned to me said they could come out Wednesday or Thursday. Our dishwasher panel shorted out 3 times between Oct 2010 and Aug 2011 and was unsuccessfully repaired by their contractor each time but the last. Bought a warranty that has a service level agreement of 24 hours. But once call was made for the claim, they assigned the service call to a contractor and then contractor did not call back within 24 hours.
