Since 2003 they've been breaking the law. In 2004 they were examined by the CA Department of insurance and written up for 235 violations. I am currently working on a claim with them as we speak. It way have only been 2 weeks right now but there lack of effort to resolve the issue has me prepared to start taking legal action once their 40 day time limit is up. I had used Workmen's for a good while and was informed that my rates would be reduced plenty when I reached age 25. I have a great driving history - no accidents of any sort in 9 years, and no speeding tickets in 4-5. My rate was never reduced, so I took it up with Geico offered me the same coverage for significantly less a month. Suffice to say, I took that route. My vehicle was hit by a client of Workmen's Auto Insurance. They were slow to respond and paid me a ridiculously low amount for my vehicle. They have been cited by the DOI in CA before and yet they continue to operate. I am trying to gather people and data to file a class action suit via and attorney who is willing in CA. I was hit by an unisured driver with no license that was an illegal and this company is who I was insured through, they initally sent out an estimator that said there was only $450 worth of damage and to just pay out of pocket I said no this is why I have insurance and got a quote from the body shop for $1300 in damages. Was in accident with a person insured by this company. They accepted responsibility for accident. That was a month ago. They have not paid the body shop the full amount. I am without a car and no one from this company will return any phone calls. I have talked to a real person 3 times. I have called this company well over 20. I got into a car accident and the other party is a member of this auto insurance company. I have never recived such poor customer service. Everytime I have tried contacting this company regarding a claim for the past two weeks, a pre-recording picks up and there is no way of speaking with an actual person.
