This is THE most dishonest, rip-off company you will ever run across. Read all of the reviews and take it to heart it is all true. They prey on your ignorance and laugh and smirk when you complain. Find a local electricain and they will do the same job for 25% of Powell's quote. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THEM TO CHANGE A LIGHT BULB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read More »

I'd like to say that I received GREAT customer service from Powell Electric when my life was put on hold last week when my power went out at my house. I have to admit that I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to electrical problems fuses/breakers, whatever. But the help that I got over the phone was over the top. I called Powell Electric and my initial call was very pleasant and they were very courteous. Unfortunately, their quote was ridiculously high. I was quoted a price of $399 to replace a simple fixture! I went with a different electrician who charged me $80 for labor and just under $100 for the fixture. Unbelievable scam artists! Read More »

We called Powell on a cold, windy night the day after Christmas, 2007. Our main circuit breaker had tripped off, and it would not reset. Yes, they charged us the $99 just to come out and give a quote, which displeased us. The shocker came when they wanted $990 to replace the circuit breaker, basically just a 10 minute job! I needed two telephone/VOIP/RJ45 lines installed. Powell sent a technician who was courteous and knowledgeable. When he came into the house, he put on plastic booties to protect the carpet, which my wife really appreciated. The technician was careful not to disturb any existing lines and finished the job quickly and accurately. It worked the first time. I asked him to look at a track light in the dining room which had not been working for a while. He was able to fix the problem very quickly... Read More »

Go elsewhere!!! Extremely high prices, 3 to 5 times the normal cost! They use scare tactics to get you to do the job before getting additional quotes. Don't use Powell Electric! Read More »
