Complete Scam, Stay away from these guys. They will claim everything is pre-existing and refuse to pay. Do yourself a favor a go with another company. 2 claims with these guys both dismissed based on their "opinion" that the issues were pre-existing. I also had a gas leak incident that the city deemed urgent enough to evacuate the house. When i called BPG they said: We can send someone in two days... Buyers Beware of this Home Warranty Company. It was the worst home warranty I ever worked with as an experienced Real Estate agent. I bought a home in 2009 with the roof leaking and they refused to fix it. I told them that you will lost a lot of customer bases because I am a real estate agent, but they didn't listen and refused to repairs. I have a warranty with BPG on my rental house, and we also have an HVAC service contract. The units are serviced twice a year, and absent BPG's warranty, we would have called the regular service contractor. The unit started blowing hot on Tuesday afternoon, and we contacted BPG. They put us in touch with the technicians, who kindly agreed to come out late Tuesday. Terrible company. Do not buy home warranty through them. They have shady contractors who will try to rip you off, tell you they are coming, get the check and tell you they will come back and never hear from them again. This company needs to be put out of business and we are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Insurance Commissioner. Customer service does not care and allows it to happen. Bought the warranty when I purchased my new home. I've called on the company many times. Each time they sent someone out I recievied a call back from the warranty company telling me I was'nt covered. Even though the service people said I should be. They came up with more excuses to do nothing. Finally cancalled my policy and am waiting to get the remained of my monies back. DO NOT get your warranty from BPG (LandAmerica Home Warranty). We purchased a home and the seller purchased this warranty to cover the HVAC and other appliances. It seemed like a good idea, in fact we were looking into purchasing the same warranty for our investment property. We purchased our first home in 9/2010 and BPG is the warranty company that was purchased by the seller for us. They have turned out to be a very difficult company to work with. Two weeks into our move in we discovered a leak in the garage, we also discovered the pool heater was not working. My husband and I recently purchased our first home and this home warranty came with it (BPG). So to our surprise after being denied our claim we find the reviews to sound similar to our experience, BPG will not honor most claims. WE filed a claim after our furnace is broken (3 days after moving in!), they send their investigators a week later, we hear back from them 4 weeks later to be denied. I bought my home in September of 2009. On August 6th of 2010 my air conditioner quit working. I pulled out my paperwork which said they were there to take claims 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and called the number given. I was greeted by a recording that said I had called after office hours and to go online to file my claim. So I did just that. My Realtor got this for me when I purchased my new home in January. I had a claim in February for my heater and then a plumbing issue this month. Both were handled well. I talked to a young man at their office about the plumbing problem and he was great. He was friendly and worked with me to understand the problem. I am a real estate broker in Palm Springs, CA. We write a home warranty policy into every sale made by our office just as a matter of policy to protect our buyers.
