I thought this group were saint-like. I had used them on several local moves and when the moving crew came, I treated them like family. We were going to be moving cross-country. I had a box for my personal belongings including family heirlooms, jewelry, medications and other such stuff. It was tucked away on top of a tall armoire. This recommendation comes easy as NorthStar did a fantastic job on all levels moving me out of my LA apartment and into my home in Pennsylvania. The office staff was totally on it and communicated via phone calls and emails through the process. I recently moved from Los Angeles to the Portland, Oregon area (Beaverton, Oregon, to be specific). NorthStar was recommended to me by my realtor who had several clients use the company before. We hired Northstar based on Angles List reviews. WOW! Were we impressed with the entire process. Great communication, particularly from our driver, Oren. We are Senior citizens and this company handled the entire move without any damage or loss. We moved March 2012. OMG did I ever regret not using these guys during my last move. The guys arrived just a little after 8:00 AM and I was told they would be there between 8-10 AM. They were ready to get the show on the road even though I had an enormous amount of boxes and antiques. They protected my heirlooms and treated my plants with respect and protected them so they wouldn’t break during the ride as if it were their own property they were moving, which I really appreciated. Just moved from Phoenix, AZ to the San Francisco Bay Area. This was a massive move (16,000 pounds, 500 items) and NorthStar arrived with driver and four-member crew as promised. I had an unbelievable experience with Northeaster. After a terrible mess with another company I found Northstar on Angie's List and they were able to move our son right away.. Stefy was the first person I spoke to and she was friendly and professional as was everyone else, even when we had our own drams. This was my 3rd major move coordinated by Northstar, and once again they did an excellent job. Both Ted, who scheduled the moving reservation, and Adam the dispatcher were on top of things, and I was able to get my furniture picked up on the exact day that I wanted it. Three guys handled my 3 bedroom condo in one trip. They were great. Super polite, really nice guys. I made a couple mistakes that cost them some time and they were so cool about it. NorthStar Moving Company was by very far the best moving company I have ever used. They showed up right on time, with clean, polite & respectful movers. I can tell you that I could not be happier that I was with Carlos Perez and his guys. They were capable, efficient and all had nice attitudes. Carlos was particulary skilled when it came time to break down furniture and put it back together again, remove and replace door handles and a door -- he was amazingly quick and skilled. I recently completed a move from Long Beach to Manhattan Beach with six weeks of storage in between. I have moved several times using the the both national and local companies, and Northstar is by far the best company out there. I originally got three quotes. I learned about NorthStar when my roommate used them to move from the Westside to the Valley. I was impressed that they arrived on time and got right to work. My girlfriend moved cross country. The moving company NorthStar is a division of Moishe's. The price was right but the service was terrible. They damaged her things during the move and then when the insurance OneBeacon America Insurance denied the replacement value on the insuranced items NorthStar made her sign an agreement saying that she would not tell on them if she wanted any help to fix the damaged items (they gave her very little money for all of her aggravation). Northstar sent four men with one van for my move. They arrived on time at 8:30a.m. and worked very hard until about 7 p.m. with only one short break for coffee and then another for a late lunch that I went and got for them, because they wanted to keep working. Years ago, I worked for the Bekins Company, so I am a bit familiar with the business side of a moving company. After receiving several bids, I selected NorthStar, and I must say that I was 100% satisfied with their quality. These guys were great!! We moved on probably the hottest day of the year this summer and they busted their behinds to get it done quickly yet carefully. The guys arrived on time, were very pleasant, worked very hard, and completed the job several hundred dollars below my "will not exceed price" that was quoted. I hired North Star to move my 4 bedroom house from Redondo to Newprt. I have a lot of heavy stuff and stairs so I requested 5 guys and two 26ft trucks. Joel (the foreman) and his team did an AMAZING job!!! These guys showed up at 7:30am and did not slow down until the work was finished. Since no one appears to have sung your praises lately, here's a late review. In April 2010 my boyfriend had to move his 'ex' out of a large two story condo apartment into a smaller one. I must say that although my experience with this moving company was not perfect, they did treat me fairly and honestly. Remember, no matter how good the moving company is, ALWAYS get your own insurance and don't depend on the 60 cents/pound insurance these moving companies offer which is a joke. A very valuable box of mine was misdirected during the move and the initial reimbursement these guys gave me (60 bucks total for the box) fell way short of the true value of the box.
