I sent a drive to DriveCrash/Ai Networks, after speaking with Lou. He told me that they would give a free estimate, and if I wrote "Rush" on the box, they would get the estimate done the same day it was received. I got a call from Lou when they received the drive, and he told me that the drive needed to be put in a "fixture" to do the recovery, which I assumed meant a head swap. Look at all the other reviews, all posted on the same day, all very short responses, all 5 stars. makes me wonder who put this up. I asked about a HD recovery, they wanted $500 up front (which can be used towards retrieving my data) before they tell me the final price, which was quoted between $800 and $3000. I found a couple other places searching the web and none of them make you pay before any service is performed and all were under $1000 dollars. Read More »
