I give them 1 star because I cannot give them zero star. Just stay as far as you can from them. I have not seen anything like my experience with them before. I saw their low rate and got fooled by their sales person who said there will be no out of pocket cost other than appraisal fee and applied for refi. Doing a loan with American Interbanc was easy. I called into their office and someone explained their rate sheet to me. Their rates were so much better then the other lenders I contacted. I was instructed to complete a loan application from their website and was assigned to a loan processor Sherie. I have refinanced my property with AIM four times over the last 15 years. Remember there is no such thing as a perfect transaction. In RE and RE financing there will always be an issue or a question that needs to be answered. The key is the understanding and diligence of your loan officer. STAY AWAY from this company. I cannot even express the incompetence and ignorance we encountered while securing a mortgage from them. My husband chose them because they had an excellent interest rate, but what a mistake! We dealt with Eric Hanko, who up until the week of our settlement seemed to be on top of things. I have used them several times for refinance and currently using them to purchase a new home. They have always been great and do have the best rates. I was leary at first dealing over the internet but it has always been a good experience. They will even send someone to your house to sign the papers. My wife and I recently refinanced with American Interbanc Mortgage. We are very happy with the terms they gave us, and with the service provided by their team. Bottom line: They gave us the deal they promised, and they successfully handled the fact that I had to go away for a week on business in the middle of the refinance process. They explained things well, were thorough, and provided the best rates to be found. There fees and costs were comparable, but they offered the best interest rate. There was no heavy pressure to sign up, just basic information and analysis. Read More »

I had read previous reviews, and they were mixed, but I decided to try them anyway. The loan agent I got was Julie Halverson, and I couldn't be happier. The loan for my new home closed in only 24 days! I had been pre-qualified with Wells Fargo, but their rates/points/fees were too high. I ended up with the same rate as Wells Fargo, but I saved $7000 in points/fees (the strange thing is that my loan is now being sold to Wells Fargo). We have recently closed a mortgage with American Interbanc. Our loan officer was always on top of things, the process was streamlined, and we were able to close in less than 30 days. We got the rate we were promised. Real estate agents on both sides were impressed by speed and efficiency of American Interbanc. Awful customer service. Ms. Phillips was repeatedly insulting and then told me not to take it personally! Make sure they don't try to charge the $999 fee if you have been quoted "0 pt, zero AIM fee". In other words if the interest rate matches the APR, then there should be no fees from the lender. Read More »

I just refinanced my mortgage with American Interbank LLC and worked with Mark Curameng. I had a very good experience. Mark was very helpful and replied to my questions within hours of me sending him a message. I have no complaints at all. The interest rate was significantly better than the rate offered at other banks. I am very happy with my refinance and would certainly recommend American Interbank and Mark Curameng to other people. American Interbanc was the worst decision we ever made. We have excellent credit and no debt and we were trying to finance a second home with American Interbanc. I just recently refinanced with American Interbanc. I have owned a few properties and have refinanced several of those loans. Just to say i'm not a beginner. When I was looking for my first house, my boss recommended American Interbanc. He was uneasy about dealing with a company strictly over the phone and email so he visited their office. They had no objections to his visit. I completed their application online and they contact me right away. I love the fact the their fees and interest rates are listed and updated daily. I have used on-line based lenders several times and have found them efficient with good communication, including on-line documentation uploads and excellent status updates. American Interbanc is basically a traditional lender that advertises on-line. Do not expect any efficiencies or use of technology to help you keep a breast of the process.
