This collection agency was fishing around and found I had defaulted on my student loans. They picked up the case. I was served with papers BUT they had not included the top page of the summons to tell me the date and which courthouse. I called them. I spoke to Nancy (I think). She actually laughed at me! Today I received a letter from Goldsmith & Hull requesting payment for an account that had already gone into collections over two years ago. I am currently paying off a debt to another collection company for this same debt. So why is Goldsmith & Hull also trying to collect on the same debt??? They are just "fishing". These snakes handled and auto accident debt of mine. I'm glad to see that at least one of the other reviews here is in the same scenario as me so it's confirming that mine was not an isolated incident. I will give you my example briefly. They should change their name to Gold-digger and Hull Scraper. Bogus lawsuit filed in late 2011 for a water heater installed in 2003. Way outside of the 4 year statue of limitations. The water heater itself went bad. The installation was fine. I think they are bottom scrapping attorneys just looking for an intimidation payout. Being sued for $4200 in Superior Court. This company sent us a letter stating that their client, State Farm, was suing us for $12,500. The letter stated that we had only 10 days to send them this money or they can go as far as garnishing paychecks, putting a lien on the house or contacting the DMV to have licenses revoked. We contacted Goldsmith and Hull and NANCY GARCIA was extremely unprofessional due to her immediate rudeness, her grammar skills, tone of voice and choice of words. It's been happening since 9-2-00. When I first started taking to a representative from this company he was very nice and very understandable and my nightmare started. He was moved to another company and so I got a new person assigned to my case.
