I used Weslend Mortgage several years ago and they were great. I started a refinance in December 2020 and it is no mid March. Communication sucks. Forget about actually talking it is all texting or emails. Try to call and they won’t answer the phone. How do I know? I immediately used my husband’s phone and they picked up immediately. Do not use these guys. We are currently on day 193 of our refinance. Yes. You read that right. Our loan officer (Lori) mishandled our file and is absolutely terrible at communicating. I have never dealt with someone so incompetent at their job. She will not willingly reach out to us. Any and all correspondence has been because we have continuously reached out, to no avail. We were told it could take up to 45 days to close and that was almost 4 months ago. Eric Reque, Octavio Zamora & Autumn Barraza were unprofessional. We provided all documentation asked for in a timely manner. No communication from them unless we reached out & even then they didn't always answer the phone or return emails. I’ve refinanced 3 times in my lifetime, and this has got to be the worse experience ever. On 3/24/20, I reached out to Aaron Hoisington for a refinance. After submitting all required documents, I had some questions about whether I want to pay some of the fees up front or roll it into the loan. When I contacted them I shared with them that I had previously had a bad experience with refinance in the past dealing with terms constantly changing. Originally I was given a GFE stating that I had to bring $300 and some odd dollars to closing. After I ordered the appraisal for $470 I was told that the appraisal came in less than expected and I would have to bring $7,000 to the table or I could order another appraisal from a different company for an additional appraisal cost. We started with Rocket loan and by day 5 the process was getting confusing and we were always assigned another customer rep when they could not explain or answer questions. We reach out to Josh and Westlend financial and his 1st call to us was on a Sunday and he got us to where we were when we left Rocket in just under an hour. Timothy Foreman worked on our refinance, quickly developed quotes for multiple options, and was very efficient at processing the mortgage and excellent with communication. The process went fairly well but issues arose that ended up costing me more than originally discussed. When these issues arose the company made those usual apologies but simultaneously attempted to blame me for the mistakes. For example, they didn't tell me to ensure my mortgage auto pay feature was turned off prior to loan funding. They change the terms of my loan after I paid 700 dollars for an appraisal. The change in terms would have cost me an additional 8000 dollars out of pocket. They had me transfer the appraisal to a new lender which cost 275 dollar extra. The whole process of dealing with them delayed my refinance by about 2 months and I was trying to refinance out of a hard money high interest loan which ended up costing me thousands of dollars in interest. This is our second time using Lenox Financial for refinancing our home and each time was an excellent experience. The first time we used them in 2013 was to lower our interest rate from 5% to 3.375% for 30 yrs in our home loan. This year, we wanted to refi again to a 15 year term. We closed our escrow three days earlier than anticipated which helped a lot because it closed on Thursday and recorded Friday verses waiting until Monday. Very strange to read negative reviews above. I don't know if these folks did 180° turn in response to these postings, but my experience was great. Mike Rael and Julianne Carr were pretty flawless in their communication regularity and honesty. This is the company advertising on the radio "This loan won't cost you one thin dime" and "The biggest no-brainer in the history of the world." Told us we easily qualified and rushed us into the appraisal which cost us $375 but said would be rebated back to us in the end. Weslend/Lennox Financial is a sheister outfit! Stay Away!!! I'm in day 70 of a mortgage loan process. My credit score is 820, my debt-to-income ratio WITH the new mortgage payment is 26. Look, we all know refinancing isn't easy. That's a given. But buyer beware! Lenox Financial has been in the business a long time now and they know how to play the game. They are worse than used-car salesmen. Remember, there are certain fees that are considered "junk fees". These junk fees represent pure profit when refinancing. I agree with M. Trent's review. They told me they would use my old appraisal for a refi. Which I sent them and then had me sign papers for an appraisal which I would never need. After a few days, they said my appraisal was too old because they looked at the wrong date and it expired 1 day ago. Worst experience I ever had with a mortgage company. Stay away far away from them. They lie, they put pressure on you to do things on their schedule, they give you wrong information, they lie, they change the rules, Had a float lock and rates went down but they refused to reduce the rate prior to closing, never got intial disclosure until the day before closing. Terrible experience with Lenox. Initial contact sounded great, we were told that with a 810 credit score we should close within 2 weeks. After a month, they requested more info. We sent the requested info and it still wasn't enough.
