As others have stated this company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. When filling out the background information for them to confirm /verify there is an option to submit documentation ahead of time. I think their investigation is focused on finding faults than actual verification. Their staff are equally lazy like they let you do all the work by submitting every possible documents and also contact organizations to reach out to them. Honestly, they can do better. The customer service responses seem to be quick at the beginning. But the customer service can do nothing to ensure that something actually occur. They do NOT provide a background check, they ask the applicants for sensitive information such as Credit card number and tax forms Nobody is privy to this information that is not financing a line of credit for you. They do not do background checks well at all. All they do is demand that you find paystubs constantly. They don't even ping you updates in timely manners so you'll constantly be blindsided by their updates. You do your own background check and will spend a good portion of your time wondering if it's even possible to get hired on the account of the fact that "they can't confirm" anything. Read More »

I almost lost a new job opportunity because of Hire Right. Reading through the recent reviews, my experience with this firm was exactly the same. I applied for a job that used HireRight and it has been a nightmare. I've had several jobs through out my career and NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE. I have had to work with this company going back and forth for MONTHS because they are so incompetent. How are they possibly still in business, if they cannot even do a background check? I have had to go through the IRS, contact previous employers, and provide them all of the information because they apparently have no way of getting it. HireRight must be the 'lowest bidder' for a background check company. It's going to take them three weeks to obtain a college transcript. I've never had issues with a background check in the past, and I've even been cleared for a top-level security clearance from the government. You guys say you couldn't verify a job I had from 9 years ago and when I try to call the line says "Due to unexpected.." and I can't get through. Really unprofessional experience with this company conducting screening for my employer, Leidos. The company indicated it was unable to obtain transcripts from a University(not the one I graduated from) due to a "hold" on the transcripts. I went to the University's website which forwarded me to the National Student Transcript Clearinghouse where I was able to download my own copy for $7 in about fifteen minutes. I would give negative stars if possible. This company is the pits. I was hired by a university and they use them as their third party background checkers. It has taken them over 8 days to complete a background check (still not done as of this writing) and I am about to miss my early insurance deadline. I called in to inquire about a pending charge (before the background check completed) and they elected to include a "Self-Reported Court Record" under the report. On top of that, the info was inaccurate and worst of all, they duplicated the single record making it appear like I have two of the same charges!! 1) You have to hold their hand during the entire background check process and spoonfeed them the information. The main business of Hireright is very likely generating spam and phishing. After completing the data entry in HireRight's background check database, I received a response stating that I worked more years than I really did with a former company. They stated that if the information was incorrect please provide documentation. You can't respond to the email because it's a non-reply email. I went digging for years of passed W2s. My profile was at 92% for almost a month and I had to call the same courts they were requesting information from which was a complete lie. HireRight is completely incompetent. Outsourced talent is incapable of performing the simplest of tasks like verification of education.
