This is involving not only Smith Brothers, but Appliance Servicers Union, and Independent Whirlpool Appliance Care (all apparently one and the same). I called on a Sunday due to a leaking refrigerator, and even though listed as 24/7, they do not have technicians working on Sundays. An appointment was set up for 11-3 on Monday. The repair tech arrived on time and seemed to be well informed about the issue and what it might take to repair it. He diagnosed my air conditioner pretty quick and clean.He replaced the condenser fan motor and my AC was working again! Overall i'm really satisfied with their services. Read More »

I called for a fridge repair and the tech spent 5 minutes on the unit. He wrote me an estimate for 3,500.00 to replace all the components he claimed were completely burned out.He charged me 65.00 and then didn't bother to leave the estimate with me.I told him I was going to get a second opinion. On 9-22-11 i had a repairman out to my house to repair my Maytag dishwasher which was a year and a half old. The repairman informed me that it was the motherboard and i gave the go ahead to order it. After a few weeks passed i got a recordeed message that the part was in and they would be out the next day. I took the day off from work but the guy didn't show up. Maytag fridge went out after 5 years. Smith Brothers was the first I saw on the google, so I called them and made an appointment the next day for $65 to inspect, which is included in the repair if I used them. My refrigerator/freezer was not cooling properly (popcicles were slush, yuck). Smith Brothers Appliance Repair (Peter) came and performed a thorough inspection to find the problem. After the diagnosis, I agreed for them to complete the service. Within a week, it was complete! GREAT SERVICE!!!!! I got a 20 percent discount for being a new customer and that just added to the savings I got. I priced out over 5 different repair places and Smith Brothers was by far the best price even without the discount. They showed up when they said they would and honestly did a great job. Our Washing machine was throwing a trouble code and not working properly. I looked around for an appliance company using Yellowpages.com and found this one to have the highest rating of stars. I called and they gave me a 10am-1pm time window which was completely inaccurate and they did not even call to say they were running late or anything. Last month our refrigerator wasn't working right so I called Smith Bros. to repair it. The repairman came to the house and said it would be $219.00 for the part and $169.00 labor. With tax it came to $409.75. I called this company because we googled for a "dryer repair" and this one had the most reviews. The problem was the dryer was spinning but did not emit any heat. The preliminary charge quoted over the phone was $85 for a visit and estimate. The $85 charge will be waived if you complete the repair with them and you will only pay for labor and materials. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. After I provided exact make, model, and error codes for my GE Profile cooktop, technician showed up telling me exactly what I already know and what the display shows. Techician didn't know what the problem is, nor does he has an idea how much it will cost for the repair. He even had a bad attitude. When my washer stopped spinning I had a family member use his water pump to remove the water that would not drain from washing machine. First I would like to say there Customer Service Representative was very nice. I called Smith Bros for a control board on my Refrigerator hoping they had one in stock, 'Was told by another company it was no longer available.' I had Smith Brothers Appliance Repair come by to fix our SubZero refrigerator. After diagnosing the problem he said we could start replacing parts, or try an interim solution that may solve the problem. After spending just over $700 (for parts and labor) and having the problem return in 2 months I decided to call another company. Based on the advertising and the fact they would waive the $75 service call fee if we went with their quote, I called SBAR to repair my oven. Hubbs and I usually fix most things around the house ourselves to save money. I definitely would not trust nor use Smith Brothers Appliance Repair!!!! They are shady, rude, dishonest and they will not make good on the warranty they give you on the repair!
