My husband and I had quite a few IRA accounts which were established when this was IndyMac Bank. I recently closed my account after one to many issues with One West Bank. Last year, one of the tellers was discussing my account with a family member. Worst bank I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with they are con artist pretending to be bankers for the people. they are out to own the world. I now know why IndyMac/OneWest Bank have a A+ rating! The BBB closes your complaint up even BEFORE you are satisfied! You NEED to file a complaint with your states Attorney General! Ive never felt disrespected by a customer service rep before until I called One West Bank Loan Modification Department! 2 people I talked were so rude! The 2nd call I made, he said he is the manager. One West Bank is foreclosing everywhere. How they have an A+ rating I will never know. They have been playing with my loan for 2 years now. They lost my paper work. Lie everytime I call and say the system upgrade is the problem. The problem is The FDIC pays them 80% of your loan value. They make more money foreclosing then modifying. This company has screwed over my mom in a major way. She tried to file for a loan modification and was given every excuse such as they never received her paper work, missing information etc. This process has been going on for almost 1 year. In April of 2010 my wife and I took out a 5-year IRA CDs. It was not disclosed to us, verbally or in writing, that there would be a "maintenance fee." And if that was not bad enough, they doubled it before the end of the year to $30. With today's low interest rates and now and One West Banks unfair, unethical and unscrupulous fees, I might have done better just putting my money under my mattress. I agree INDYMAC/ONE WEST BANK is a complete scam. They pretend to want to help you , really want to foreclose on your home. I have for over 2 weeks to connect with a real person to help solve my friends foreclosure sale. I have emailed documents showing I was able to pay off in 45 days or catch up in 2 weeks. I have been trying to get my loan modified since prior to December 2009. I was told that my property taxes and insurance had to be escrowed into my payment. I was then told that had to be paid in full. I did that. Then I applied to have my taxes escrowed. I got a letter saying that I needed to send them almost $3000.00 before I could have them escrowed. Indymac/One West Bank is unwilling to do loan mod or short sale. Their short sale negotiators and loan officers are unresponsive. You cannot call them and they rarely answer emails. I acquired a REVERSE MORTGAGE with One West Bank in 2006. In 2010 I decided to pay off the Reverse Mortgage so my now disable son could inherit my home. About CD's from this bank. ONEWEST BANK, Pasadena CA.(formerly INDYMAC BANK) I had two CD's maturing on Feb.12, 2010 totalling $105.000. I have been having the same problems with One West as everyone else. It is good to see all of these reviews and I hope a class action suit will happen. I have been denied since Sept. 2009 and I applied in March 2008. I had to keep faxing in documents and updating financials. I've read the stories others have submitted and given the dates mentioned in some of them, I must say that One West Bank (IndyMac) is not forthright. However, if any of you were looking to qualify for the Make Home Affordable Program, you should know that your existing mortgage loan must be a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac backed loan. Does anybody have a positive experience with these guys? I get the same collection phone calls talked about buy always have paid before it was 30 days late. Indymac/One West Bank have been anything but helpful. I have been trying to modify my mortgage since February & have had to keep re-applying because every time I mail, certify mail, or fax in my modification application, I am told that I did NOT send all the paperwork they requested (though I have copies of all the pages of each modification application). In 2007, Indymac bought my loan from the original lender. In February 2008, we became behind with our mortgage because of my hours being cut and the loss of a client of 20 years that I do transcribing for at home. This company is not trying to help people modify their loans unless they are on the verge of foreclosure. I spoke with a representative from the corporate office that told me that is the only way they would modify my loan. This company has been acting very unethically in dealing with us. We have been attempting to go through a loan modification directly with them, and have been doing everything possible on our part to follow their requirements. Things with this lender were fine at first, then we get a letter that our house is suddenly in a flood zone and they want flood insurance (after 3 years with this company). I called my county official who said we are not in a flood zone. When I called IndyMac they said the county could not determine this, we have to go through FEMA. indymac cannot be trusted, they will compile escrow and have no answer for doing so. Recently i had thier hazard insurance at 500.00 dollars and this year it went to 2300.00, when asked what the reason i was told to contact the insurance which i did. i gave the policy number to balboa insurance and they had no info on this policy and made a three way call to indy to help resolve this matter. to make a long story short, im paying for a policy that doesnt exist.
