Here is the update of my previous complaint on 04/10/2020 I called West Lake Customer Care and was transferred to Wilshire Consumer Credit. I asked the Wilshire Consumer Credit Representative to transfer me to West Lake Customer Care, and she denied transferring. This has to be the worst company on the plant, I wish I would have never ever done this, I signed up for the loan telling them I am only paid once a month at the end of the month. They send me a bill in the middle of the month due for the 15th, I immediately call them and they tell me after I make my first payment they will change my payment to the 30th, I call these __and they tell me the only day they have available is the 16th which means I am continuing to accrue late fees and every time... I had an emergency so I had to take out a title loan. I shopped around to different title loan companies and asked for what their interest rates were for the loans to get the best lowest interest rate possible. I know these title and pay day loan companies have much higher interest rates than regular loans so I wasn't too surprised with they all told me between 18% to 30% interest rates. I had two loans with this company and paid the first loan earlier this year. Paid the second loan off last week. Never missed a payment with them and now that the loan is paid off, they will not send me a paid letter so I can go get financed for a new car for ten days even though I paid with a credit card and doesn't require for it to clear. This company needs to be reported to the links shown below, advise them IN WRITING with at least one of those letters being sent Certified mail. I was in a pinch needing repairs on my home so took out a loan with this company using my car as collateral. What a nightmare! First off the interest rate was massively high at 96% and they would always call and harass me in the late morning if I didn't make a payment at 8am on the payment due date. Even though I was never late once on my payments. I eventually traded the car off just to get away from these people and they played the shell game with me and the dealership over the car title.... I would like to warn aanyone who is considering doing business with these people. They are corrupt and im sure committing fraud in more ways than one. I did a title loan loan for 2600 and have paid 1000 in 4 months. Guess what my payoff is today? 2900!!! Taking a loan from this company is a terrible mistake. They charge an 89% annual interest rate and the policy is to start repossession of your car after being 5 days late on a payment. I wish that I had never taken the loan with this company. I am also planning on writing the BBB and state legislators as these types of companies should be outlawed. Read More »

I used this company and even though they are very nice, they are slow. I called to payoff the loan and was told I need fax or e-mail the paperwork back, which I did within 15 minutes. I told the rep I was speaking to I had e-mailed it. Two days later I called and asked if they had showed me paid off and the lady told me it was "processing" and not to worry. I did a loan with these folks along with another title company (BAD MISTAKE). While I never encountered a rude representative with this company, they have issues as well. I paid the payments on time but upon deciding to pay the loan off, they informed me that the interest rates continue to go up instead of down!! My wife and i asked for a Loan from Wilshire about 2 years ago, July 06,2009 when we where struggling finincially. My wife went online to look for a car title loan. It was are last resort to get some quick cash putting one of our vihicles as callateral. We live in Rancho Cucamonga and that same day everything was done through fax and phone calls. This is one of the worst companies I have ever done business with!! My payment was due on the 2nd which fell on a Saturday and Monday at 2:45pm, I was already receiving a call looking for the payment. I called back and spoke to a representative and asked him if my payment was only two days late, why were they call me. I was going to do a auto loan with WCC and after reading the numerous reviews I chose to sell a kidney (LOL). I asked WCC all the questions I felt needed to be asked after reviewing what was said about WCC and this is the reason why everyone should post comments, I believe this is why America has given us the FREEDOM OF SPEECH. This is one of the worst companys to do business besides HSBC. I think they are owned by the same rude person. They call you as soon as you are 1 day late and keep calling and threating you until you pay. I have never heard of this kind of service. You have a 10 day grace and they say it's due on the day it's due if not they will pick up your car. DO NOT do business with Wilshire Consumer Credit, I was in need of a loan and I was lied to about the interest rate, You are given different information each time you call, they do not notate in your account on what you and the previous rep spoke about. Wilshire Consumer Credit, avoid this company like the plague. I took out a quick loan amount through them 2 months ago,Ive been paying them back on time every month, however this month, I was 3 days late. I kept receiving phone calls left and right. I received a loan from this company, and paid it in full a few months later. I heard nothing from them for a few months, then their collections department called me and said I still owed them money. At first they didn't even know why, then they said it was a prepayment penalty. My contract said nothing about a prepayment penalty, so they told me they'd call me back with clarification. 6-2-09 This company is a big ripoff. They are very quick to loan you the money and before you even sign the loan documents, they have already attached theirself as a lien holder to your vehicle and insurance policies with an expiration date of a year after the loan is paid off. If you can avoid it - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, look else where. They interest rate is 5.8% per month / 75% a year. Their rates are worse than the old fashioned loan sharks.
