In November of 2012, I bought a bunch of tenth-ounce gold coins from Goldline. I was told that I could expect to pay more for the smaller coins than for the single one-ounce coins. The difference was $700/oz. I was told that when I sold them back, I could expect to receive more money for each of the coins because they were tenth-ounce ones. I called to get a price on selling back silver. The guy convinced me to buy 10,000.00 worth of silver. They sent me an email to sign off on and I changed my mind. They became upset and called me dishonest. They were extremely upset and insulted me over and over again. I asked to speak to the boss (Greg) and he was even more insulting. I was scammed by Goldline to purchase investment coins for my IRA because of the confiscation threat. They talked me into that lie at a 30% hit. That was in 2005. Several years ago I was convinced by advertising to convert $20,000.00 of my 401k to precious metals with Goldline. We purchased 60 gold 1 ducats from Austria in Sept 2009 for 213 each. I called goldline to learn the current selling price for these coins. On January 22, 2013, the coins are now worth 183. Over 3 and a half years, we lost 1800 dollars while the price of gold has risen significantly. I will not comment on the trustworthiness of goldline but just let the facts speak for themselves. Glenn Beck approved...so I thought it was safe to call them. They liked to talk about the confiscation of gold under FDR. This bothered me since what really happened wasn't confiscation (taking of gold with no payment). I am in the process of buying several hundred silver eagles and checked around for prices. Glenn Beck recommended Goldline, so I called them on November 12, 2012. I bought gold from them back in 2008. And it when up considerably. I bought gold coins from Goldline back in 2002 at 306. an ounce. I asked them to help choose gold pieces that would increase in value as gold prices went up. Requested to refund my account balance $18936 on 5-4-2011 12:20PM. Called couple of times to follow up with account executive which told me need 8 calendar days to process my refund. Goldline will always try to talk you into buying more expensive gold. Except for bullion, if you buy gold today and then try to sell it the next day, you will get 30% less than what you paid for it. To say it another way, they will sell it to you for 50% more than what they are willing to buy from you. They have always been courteous and nice but they do prey on the uninformed. I bought silver from these people, and they are 3x over spot price. If you want to buy gold or silver coins just go directly to the us mint. If you want silver or gold bars and such do some research first. I won't mention names of independent sellers due to the non bias nature of this complaint. It is truly unbelievable to me that the BBB would tarnish their good name and credibility by allowing this company to be a BBB member, much less A+ rated. These guys should probably be in jail. Their markups are truly criminal. Their commission on sales is MANY MULTIPLES of the competition and they purposely steer customers into investments that are against their best interests with high pressure sales tactics. I just read the other reviews. I to listened to Glenn Beck. The people at Goldline are very freindly and answer your questions, just be sure and ask the correct questions. On at least some of their offerings (semi-numismatic coins such as the Swiss 20 Franc gold coin) their prices are outrageous. These coins have little or no numismatic value. In reading some of the complaints, I can't help but think that when you buy anything you must know what your buying. Gold has a pure and simple value that is traded and listed daily. IF buying coins, make sure that they are pure gold...If they are partial, then you must know the content of Gold in each piece.
