Schumacher Cargo was hired as a subcontractor of a subcontractor of a shipment for a move we recently made from London to Atlanta. We paid our shipper all the costs in full up front. Sent my vehicle from Miami to Valencia , Spain. Everything was perfect until the moment i paid the invoice, 3 months with no information, no one answered my emails until the moment i called by bank to chargeback for a service that were not rendered. Had Heard all the disaster stories, so didn't want the same to happen to the vehicle we purchased from Wellington Florida USA. Seller was very helpful with documentation. Schumacher organised everything from Door to Port. I paid a great deal for the vehicle so I wanted it delivered to Melbourne Australia in one piece. STOP !! DO NOT USE SCHUMACHER ! If you pay another company 20% more, you will save money and headaches in the long run. I moved from LA to Australia. What went right: Initial communication, and packing contractor. What went wrong: EVERYTHING ELSE ! Once I paid, the cargo sat for WEEKS, waiting for the ship to fill. I strongly advise against using this company service. Used them in 2015. Everything went fine in the beginning. Good customer service, advisible agent and everything was smoothly prepared. The chaos began when the car was shipped. They totaly lost control of the shipment. Car was shipped to different port then agreed with a big delay and all additional costs were passed to me. My experience with Schumacher was very unfortunate. I dropped off my motorcycle to be shipped to Israel. They asked for documentation which I provided. Then, they did nothing. Literally nothing. When I inquired about six weeks later as to why my bike hadn't shipped they said I needed an import permit. Firstly, I didn't. Secondly, they never asked for such a thing. We have recently moved from South Africa to Lexington Kentucky. Our mover was Stuttafords Van Lines and Meditteranean Shipping Company who were fantastic and their communications system on the progress of our container could not be faulted. It all fell apart on arrival in the US when our contracted cotainer was handed over to the Shumacher Logistics Group. Allow me to add one more voice to the chorus of horrible experiences with this company. Like the other reviews, they were totally uncommunicative through the entire process. At one point we were told we would be charged extra to have it shipped to our new home because it was a different address than they had been given. Had a container sent from South Africa to Houston using AGS Frasers. They must have subcontracted Schumacher Cargo for our delivery to Austin. Was not informed that our container arrived in port, after calling and emailing for a week was told I would be contacted when it cleared customs and sent an invoice. I had the unfortunate luck to have Joey S as my rep. While he may be a "professional" in this line of work, this will be the one and only time I will ship a car overseas. I repeatedly sent him emails (as he never did answer his phone when I called) regarding the appropriate paperwork necessary for export. He never did respond. I shipped 7 boxes and 1 bag from Ireland. Irish company dealt with Schumacher to deliver my items to Maryland. However, I ended up having job in Seattle WA. I requested Schumacher Cargo to deliver my shipment to WA. They agreed with extra charge which is acceptable. I paid them asap. We had a deal that they will deliver shipment in 15 days of payment. everyone shipping cars international with this company should know that they will end up paying a lot more than what was quoted. It was my worst experience ever with this company. It took them close to four months to ship one car to the UAE. I was quoted originally $1500 ended up paying $3500 for one car. We are using Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. for shipping our Trial's Bike overseas to the Middle East. Schumacher dealt with the shipment of my daughter's belongings, back to the UK, in a faultless manner. They did everything they promised to do, at a cost more competative than the rest. Greg and Katheryne at Schumacher couldn't have been more helpful. All the goods have now arrived in the UK, in the same condition as they left America. We contacted Schumacher Cargo Logistics, Inc. and two other companies at the end of June 2012 for a quote to ship 3 cars from the USA to Switzerland. Schumacher's quote was very competitive and their customer service was excellent. We arrange for pick up at our house in the US and drop off at our new place in Switzerland (both services at an extra cost). It took about 5 weeks for the cars to arrive in Switzerland. Both their teams in the US as well as the logistics company they worked with in Hamburg were super professional, extremely efficient and really friendly.
