Installers Andrew and Joe were awful. They showed up at noon to install 12 windows. I was told they would start by 10 AM. Andrew said they’d be done by 5 PM. I knew then I was in trouble. They eventually finished up at 9:30 PM. Andrew was constantly on his cell arguing with his girlfriend. Andrew and Joe were sloppy. They scratched and dinged up wall paint and window sills. I recently had 25 wood clad windows and 4 french doors replaced by Design Windows. My experience was fantastic from start to finish! I asked for several references from Design and was very pleased with the feedback I was given. Had just purchased a house that we were flipping and desperately needed new windows. I wanted a cheap price but not a cheap window. Out of all the contractors I have hired over the years, Joe with Design Windows was friendly...not pushy like some of the other guys, very knowledgably and most importantly fulfilled our purchase agreement prior to the anticipated wait time and the finished installation looks far better than I could have even imagined. We recently ordered Madison Windows. We were originally quoted 4-6 weeks for installation. To our surprise I received a phone call a little after 2 weeks to schedule our installation. Everyone was very friendly. The installers were very considerate of our pets and our 2 yr. old son. They covered up our white carpets and protected our wood furniture. Once again...Design Windows has done an outstanding job on our home. This was our second time in using them to complete our home improvement projects. First our windows were replaced during a heat wave..WOW what a difference in appearance as well as temp control. To begin with it took us almost two months from the date of signed contract to the installation date. Delivered frames were much smaller than windows openings. I understand that installers tried to be safe and have enough gap between frames and walls at the time of installation and leveling. But, at least, do not try to safe foam and leave the holes between frames and walls. I constantly was asking to add some more foam in the gaps and some more screws to attach frames to walls. This company have an excellent leadership.... I am talking about the owner. He cares for his customer. When I had a contract with this company, and when the windows were completed, I wasn't happy with the product installation. I was to the point of asking for a revert of payment, then the owner came down to my property to check my complaints. He then took care of the mess. The windows were then really completed! Design Windows installed our beautiful french doors a couple of years ago. Their pricing could not be beat, they completed the install on schedule with upmost quality and to top it off have stood by their customer satisfaction guarantee ever since! We had most of our windows replaced and have liked them for the most part. The problem with Design Windows and Doors is mostly their "wait time". Don't ever expect anything to happen "soon". In the end, the job was satisfactory but nothing to write home about. The gals in the office are great with customer service but not really happy with Joe. Their salesman showed me a print-out and tried to convinced me that you can get tax credit by purchasing the window without installing it by the end of 2010. I have later found out from the government website that it is not true. I have almost lost my tax credit by their mis-guidance and they are not making any compensation. What a great experience overall. When JR showed up at my door, I was actually planning on JUST looking at the window samples and then waiting a bit before ordering...renovations are so costly and I had already spent a small fortune. I must say that I was not in the market to replace two windows in our recently purchased home. But the cheap dual-paned windows the previous owner put in were cloudy and just plain horrible. Placed a window order to replace all windows and sliding doors in our home. It took over 5 months to get the windows and doors. Installation took multiple attempts over the course of months due to incorrect materials and other issues. Installers would arrive on time, but materials were not delivered as promised, so they could not begin work as scheduled. A representative came out to my home in early 2008. I waited until 2009 to purchase the windows, but the company honored the quote I was given a year prior. It took a few weeks after the windows were ordered to be delivered. And they accomodated my schedule wonderfully. I had two sliding doors and 3 windows replaced, all the work was done in one day. Company representative came to our residence for free consultation. We had most of our windows and one sliding glass door replaced. Work was completed within 2 weeks according to specifications in the contract, and everything was professionally and beautifully done for a competitive price with a lifetime warranty.
