I live in an older home, and our air conditioner started blowing warm air in the middle of the night. Our daycare provider (Christian Family Daycare) mentioned they recently had a new AC installed. My hvac condenser fan is not turning last week. The Econo tech came for a diagnostic check, and came back with 3 options. He told me if I want to get it to work only, it will cost $795 with 1 year warranty. If I really want to fix, it will cost me $1,795 with 2 years warranty, and if I want a complete job, it will cost $2,795 with 3 years warranty. I refused to fix so he just wrote down the a/c is bad. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! A very long story but short of it is that they had a technician come to my house for a routine check up on a service contract I have with them. The tehnician, Paul asked me how long it hs been since ran AC I siad a couple of months maybe as it has been necesary. I used this company because I had seen them at my local Costco and remembered their name. I went to their website where they had a special Tune Up promotion for $69 (normally $109). I called and set up an appointment. I mentioned that only two days prior a piece of the HAVC in an indoor closet had started making a loud noise and would not shut off after 20 mins. We are curently shopping for a new furnace. Replacing a furnace is a big investment for us and we want to not only get the best deal but most importantly receive the best service as well. We got 3 proposals and Econo Air (refered by Costco)was the most priciest. We don't mind paying for a good quality product but I felt the service on the estimate was unprofessional. Recently I had a member of Econo air come to my house for a tune up on my furnace. Thank god I did. The service Tech found and showed me multiple problems with my heat exchanger that could of been a real problem to our health and safety. I love that from the receptionist to the managers, every member of the Econo Air team makes you feel as though you are the only client they have. They are patient and calm even though they are busy, honest and upright even though they are not the cheapest around, and thorough and efficient even though they have a lot to do. I am so thankful that I went with Econo Air for my HVAC needs! They have done several things for us in the years that I have been using them...they have installed my furnace/AC unit, done all the maintenance on it, installed a new water heater, inspected our plumbing and made quality suggestions that we followed, and have always been honest and straight-up with me. I got Econo Air to come out and install an hvac unit in my place. I thought the price was fair enough, but what really impressed me was that the guys that did the install were straight-up and really knew their stuff. I will never again contact this company for service. They are complete scammers. They told me I need a new heater as repairs to my 2002 heater would be $1600 to $2000 dollars. When I contacted another repair company for a second opinion, the other company repaired my heater for $115. No parts required. Econo Air processed financing without my authorization. I am extremely unhappy with the cost of the service provided by Econo Air on 11-17-2010. My furnace/AC unit had stopped working due to insufficient maintenance. I called them out to fix it and Tim, the technician, and Hector, a trainee, came out. Tim spent time inspecting my attic and telling me I needed asbestos removal and new ductwork. He quoted a total price of $4620 to get all that work done. I declined. He cleaned the connectors of my system and got it running again. The charge for that... Read More »

On Saturday 8/07/10 I took advantage of Econo Air's $69 Summer Tune Up special only to have Econo Air take advantage of me. My A/C system was working fine with no problems. Their technician suggested that I replace my capacitor because it had rust on the connections. He quoted me a price of $500, which I agreed to. Avoid Econo Air! We bought our system from Econo Air on faith after the salesperson said it was the best. The system was used moderately and serviced every year and a half. I changed the filters every few months. Econo Air calls to say they are doing a 'special' tune-up for $79. They come out and say the system is in need of at least $3,000 in repairs. This is quite possibly the worst company that we've ever done business with. We do a lot of home rehabbing and have worked with many companies, but Econo Air has been nothing short of a nightmare. 6 years ago this was a good company when they installed the system. It's when you try to get service on the installed system that the trouble begins and never ends. There are times you cannot even reach a service representative-not enough people to service the calls I suppose. Starting with the initial phone call for an estimate, it was a very pleasant experience. The sales rep seemed like a long time friend very nice very kind and not pushy.
