Speednydating and Living Social has yet to provide the services paid for and refuse to offer a refund. It's been 10 months with limited communication regarding the matchmaking service that was paid for (the last communication being 6 months ago and to date, not one match. The only thing great about this company is their marketing department. They do a great job of getting you excited for a fun night. However, to keep this short, the night is nothing the company promises it will be. The venue was small, four people to one high top table each. This didn't end up being a problem of over crowding though, because there were 22 women and only 14 men. 1/1/13 Update: As other Yelpers note...they are bullies. I had a poor experience I they cannot graciously apologize and accept it. They continue to harrass me by email and are now threatening to defame me by post that I am a bad customer. Although I had heard and thought about speed dating before, I had never tried it or looked into it. So when I received a Groupon from Speed LA Dating, I thought "why not?" SpeedLA Dating was a blast! A very classy atmosphere, able hosts, and great format. My only wish was that there was a short break in the middle - that was a long time to be on-point. Also, it'd be nice if the box where you mark top matches wasn't at the bottom - but maybe a box to check next to their name. This was my first attempt at speed dating and I have to say, I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. There were plenty of girls and all of them were extremely nice and sociable so I didn't have any of those first date awkward moments. So this was my very first time every to go on any type of speed dating event and on top of that I went alone! I didn't really know what to expect, which is a good thing. I'm a pretty shy guy. Don't really like the LA club or bar scene and have been looking for places to meet some cool people and maybe that awesome girl. The SpeedLA events are always done well. They create such a laid back atmosphere, you feel completely comfortable to kick back, let loose, and enjoy the night. What a great experience! If speed dating is a new venture for you, SpeedLA Dating definitely makes it a fun and comfortable atmosphere (maybe having a drink prior to helped as well). I was actually pleasantly surprised by the crowd; attractive and great conversationalists (for the most part). Time did seem to fly by fast though. Speed dating has this weird reputation for whatever reason one hears, but I had to experience it myself. I am a transplant from the East Coast, and it is hard to meet new people in LA. I discovered Speed Dating LA and have had nothing but positive experiences. It is British style speed dating, where you rotate table to table every 5 minutes. i was pleasantly surprised with the females, almost all beautiful young professionals. I’ve had a thoroughly gratifying time at multiple events in Boston with this company. The locations and hosts have been fabulous, with an atmosphere that is chic but not pretentious. I enjoy the 4-5 minute session format, which is long enough to go beyond the ‘break-the-ice’ stage but without compromising on briskness. I’ve attended three events in and around LA with this company and have only had one negative experience – they ended up with twice as many guys to girls once which did not work out to my advantage. Otherwise I’ve found each event to be professionally run and have had a great night each time. So what should you expect? I went to SpeedLA events few times; it is a great way to meet local singles in town. Among all the speed dating companies in San Francisco/ Bay area SpeedLA is one of the best. Friendly staff and great selection of singles in their events. Events are usually held in really nice and convenience places in SF. I went to SpeedSF events a number of times; it was a great way to meet lots of quality singles quickly. Locations are generally convenient, low-key, and easily accessible. Got a voucher from LivingSocial for the speed dating and decided to attend the event. I had never tried speed dating, but I was curious. The event overall was super fun.
