Sovereign did a pointless hard credit pull on me, during the week of July 26. The Sovereign rep who called me told me I would be almost certainly eligible for a VA IRRRL at my desired interest rate, and that the credit pull was the last step. I applied to refinance my mortgage on March 23, 2021. It is very difficult to get phone calls returned or answered as well as replies to emails. The last communication I had with my loan officer was for him to get the credit card information for a $250.00 appraisal. I initiated a mortgage refinance with Sovereign Lending Group on 10/24/2020 after seeing a commercial on TV advertising their mortgage rates. I completed the application process and uploaded all of the required documents to the loan originator by 10/26/2020. My loan officer was horrible. First he told me the process would only take 30 days. He recommended that i borrow money from my IRA to pay off some credit card balances to improve my credit score, so I did. I had 60 days to pay this back without penalty. Needless to say, it took around 80 days to get funded. So i had to jump through hoops to try and borrow money from others to pay back my IRA until my loan funded. When we started our loan process I was 99% sure it wouldn't work as we had previously tried to refinance twice before to no avail. But Fred was a believer that it could be done and encouraged my husband and I to move forward with the process and I'm very glad we did. I got my refi processed with Derek Sipe and Jacqlyn Garneau. They were very professional and courteous. We ran into a little snag that almost didn't get the loan through. Because we have a complex rental situation and with a low income/debt ratio, we did not qualify with most big banks and their requirements for refinance.
