In April of 2014 I ordered a new CPAP, Humidifier, Mask, and Hose. My insurance approved approximately $1650 and sent it to me. Americare asked me to send the check to them which I did. They acknowledged receipt in June of 2014. Then in October 2014 they improperly asked for my HIPAA data from my CPAP to "prove" I was using the system. In July 2014 I filed complaints with both the BBB and the California Attorney General's office because they were billing me incorrectly. Lloyd Mote, CEO responded formally to both complaints that my account would be resolved with $0 balance. Now, 9 months later I've just receive another bill for the same device for $1250. BE very Careful dealing with this company, My insurance denied the claim due to not meeting my deductible, so they offered me a purchase price for the cpap machine. 6 Months later I got a Bill for over $1000. for Rental fees etc. When clearly it stated on my contract that I would owe no additional fees. Not impressed at all. Called on the day I told them I was on vacation, noted in the message I was on vacation and said they'd call back tomorrow. A week later, no call. I called back and cannot get a prompt response. I can never get my representative in person and they never call back until evening. Now they want my cell phone number and said to call back and leave in voicemail, because guess what? They are out of office today. I'm not giving them my cell phone because I think business should... Americare is a great company to deal with, they took care of all of the paperwork with our insurance company and got all the info from my husbands doctor to get the right machine and had it set up for him before it was mailed out. Unlike many other Internet Businesses, this company has lived up to its promises. They handled all paperwork with my Insurance Co., and then promptly shipped my new CPAP machine via priority mail, so that it was delivered in one day. This is the finest firm I have ever found. I have had sleep apnea for about 10 years. I have tried about 4 or 5 cpap suppliers before American Resp Services and I had nothing but bad service. The very first time I called American Res they were great.When ever I call, whom ever I talk to is very knowledgeable and polite. I live in New Hampshire and had a local respiratory service and did not like them. I found Americare on the internet and sent them an application for servicing me with my Cpap supplies. There service was outstanding and very timely in sending me supplies. They billed my insurance company and I had not problems at all. They will send you what they want not necessarily what you asked for or what you need. Their main objective is to collect insurance money. Returning anything is not easy, they send you a label, you had better have all the packing materials and a way to take it to the post office! Americare is an excellent company. Their customer service is very good. They are also very good explaining in detail what the process is in getting CPAP supplies. I was able to get a new CPAP machine and supplies in just 7 days. I would highly recommend Americare to anyone. Read More »
