I thought i'd have to live without a main 1tb drive that died when a local tech took 2 weeks & $250 but COULD NOT FIX IT. The local tech then recommended a $500-$1500 service with NO guaranties. After another service charged me $99 to tell me they wanted another $700-$1200 to recover data, I decided to send the disc to $300 Data Recovery, based only on what I found online. So glad I did! Don't overpay! Don't waste your time with other companies! Use $300 Data Recovery first. The company that initially tried to recover the files on my dead hard drive couldn't do it. My hard drive would no longer boot up. I took the hard drive to Staples to retrieve the data. I had to pay a diagnostic fee of 70.00. I received a phone call two days later informing me that my hard drive was damaged and I would have to take it to a cleaning room. They are FANTASTIC! My laptop hard drive was failing turned out to be a weak head. From start to finish they are pros. "As good as it gets" is accurate. I had a hard disk crash in a mysterious way, and wasted $50 on a local drive recovery outfit.
