If I could give them NO stars, I would. There have been many similar complaints, but here goes...I got a reasonable estimate over the phone. The movers showed up, and once my stuff was loaded on the truck (move from IL to CA), I was told the cost would be more than DOUBLE the estimate. Not much I could do about it then! I set up my move with Guardian 3 months ago and have been in contact with Chris Brown (their sales rep) several times since. They reassured me that all was in order and ready to go. They showed up on the pick up date without the equipment they said they'd have and were not able to do the pick up and now a week before moving they cancelled completely without giving me the time of day. Best Movers Ever! I just completed my second move with Guardian Moving and they are a pleasure to work with. Everyone I interacted with was polite, efficient and great to work with. The cost was really reasonable and nothing was broken or lost, which is always a treat! I have recommended Guardian to anyone I know who is moving and will use them again in the future. We were referred to Chris Brown by a family friend who had previously set up their move with Guardian Moving and Storage and let me tell you, we had a great move. We called the office and spoke with Chris who provided us with excellent customer service and a very fair price quote for our move. Never having used a professional mover before I did not know where to start. I checked the yellow pages and spoke briefly with a couple and made appointments to have in house estimates. While checking out companies on the internet I came to find that most reviews of movers suggested someone to in house estimate. I moved within New York last week. This is the first time I've had to use a moving company and I was really pleased with the service. Guardian Movers were excellent from the moment I first made an enquiry to delivering my stuff into my new home. Extremely pleased with the service at Cardinal and their approach. Received a very fair estimate over the phone from William, followed by a very swift Sunday move. They were prompt and no nonsense. I was a little skeptical when I first contacted Guardian moving systems, due to the reviews online, but I was on a budget and they gave me a really good price for my relocation. Well, when these guys arrived, the service was incredible, they wrapped every item carefully, and went the extra mile in preserving the items we had marked. As agreed upon, we went to check on our shipment of furniture and boxes being moved from one truck to another. We have had the best move ever and I will take a minute to write a great experience. Eric Pete and Julio were movers we hired from Guardian Moving Systems to move us across the Valley were awesome. The movers from Guardian were the best experience we had for moving to date. My husband and I have moved quite a few times. Most time the estimater would come into the house walk around then write a cost. Our previous experiences were repeat low ball. The quotes were low then at the end we paid more than the estimate. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They are a bunch of snakes. They never return your phone calls they tried to ship my furniture in two different crates and quotes $6,000. Nothing was placed properly in the crate to create less space and charge me more. Don't trust this company to do what is right to protect your goods. First they break things when it could easily be avoided. Secondly, their inventory procedure makes it easy for them to steal/lose things. Unless you can assign someone to make sure everything is inventoried, you WILL probably lose stuff. Did they steal it? After using Guardian Cargo Shipment, not only did they forget to call to establish the pick up day, but upon dropping off my household goods in California, I discovered that they unwrapped my 63" plasma TV, removed the base stand, and then rewrapped it, not including the base stand. They have been dodging my emails in order to get the issue fixed, and after finally getting the information to their claims service, I discover that they will only cover .60 cents per pound for their obvious lack... I wish I had read the other review before I used this company. They are a horrible company to use. They broke my 52" LCD TV, would not insure it, did not offer insurance and the driver refused at pick-up. Stole some of my belongings. When items were delivered the driver informed me to file any complaint with the office. 118 days later they claim that I had to notify the driver of any missing items. They are a terrible moving company. Instead of all of my belongings, they left a large portion of them behind. I had to make a trip to Honolulu from California just to make sure they indeed shipped ALL my belongings the second time. This company is not one to trust with your valued personal items, they hold your items hostage for additional funds, they do not care if they leave your items behind, they charged for more space than they used leaving you to pay for empty space. Don't expect Guardian to call you on anything. They don't call, don't return calls, and should you get a hold of anyone, they won't be able to help you. They can't transfer a call to the person you need to speak with. I've received conflicting information from them, and nobody can tell me where my stuff actually is. Their lack of communication and record keeping is in violation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety administration (FMCSA). I recommend avoiding Guardian. Read More »

My experience with GARDIAN Moving & Storage, LA was excellent. I find sales person and all other staff very helpful and easy to communicate. Their service was on time according to my requests, normally in the frame of realistic packing pick up and delivery and unpacking. Horrific moving experience. Guardian gave us a binding billing quote of $4,851.00 (#39734) but actually charged us $13,529.00 That is close to a $10,000 discrepancy. Of course they notified about this difference at 10pm at night when our goods were already loaded on the truck and we were closing escrow on our house the following morning and had to vacate the property.
