The only dentists in the Syracuse area that accept this plan are affiliated with Aspen Dental care. Reluctantly, i called 3 offices to schedule an appt for my husband to repair a lost filling. The earliest appointment i could get for a consultation (NOT TO PERFORM SERVICES) would be a 3 week wait. They lied and told me that my dentist was a part of this network, when they are not. When I told them my dentist doesn't accept my plan, they told me 30 other dentists do. When I asked for names so I could call these other dentists, they could only provide one name of a dentist who I don't want to go to. It's been almost nine months and I still haven't found a dentist who allows this plan. They are quick to sign you up, but there is no service to follow and you get nothing for your money. Some people amaze me with their comments. These plans are a great alternative to insurance - hands down. It doesn't make sense to send people away from these types of options because you had a bad experience. My family has used this service for almost 2 years and its great. I got a plan with DentalPlans.com and saved SO much money at the dentist. When I first heard about this, I thought it was a scam. But, this past year alone saved me more money than I spent on a dental plan for my entire family. With our plan, my husband, two sons, and I receive discounts at the dentist, and we each get 2 free cleanings a year. I paid $180 dollars for the family plan - so that's 8 cleanings alone for $180. This plan was not a great value. It provided a discount of dental work, but seems I could find a better price just by shopping around. Also, when the plan was scheduled to expire it automatically renewed and charged my credit card and the company charged me a fee to cancel the plan (written in their fine print, of course). My own experience with the plan is very positive. Basically, my preferred dentist accepts one of their plans so I subscribe to that plan. I live in Manhattan, where the dental fees can be quite high. I know with certainty that I am paying about $900 per crown, while those without the plan pay about $1,300. I called two of their office numbers for dentists and that dentist not only doesn't work but has never worked at that office or number. There's nothing worse than websites that lie to you and that is what it appears they did: Huge waste of time. They can't provide any kind of good service and they just want your money. Dentalplans.com customer service is horrible. Their business practices makes the company feel like you're in a Scam! If you've just recently bought a plan, find out what your refund policy is and get your money back as soon as possible before it's too late and you waste your money and time. I joined DentalPlans.com last July/10. I located a Dentist after checking out a couple in my area that didn't have any idea what this plan was about, although they are listed on DentalPlans.com referral list.
