I moved the minimum furniture and boxes and tote bins to NY. I packed. Most of the move went well, but the driver, Victor, couldn't locate the home with GPS. Was notified by dispatcher would arrive Thurs., but came Friday. Driver had wife sign paperwork and no copies of anything were left with us. I just used moving on up to help me move from Miami to Colorado, and let me tell you what a relief it was to finally get all settled in my new house! My dad was moving some furniture from Chicago to Florida. They agreed to let him pay for the whole thing with a personal check when pick-up occurred. Dad (88 years old) had to drive to a K-Mart because they couldn't find his house. Then they decided he had to pay cash and they would give him his check back. Earlier last week was the second time in 5 years I have used the services of Moving On Up and I have yet to have a problem. They are always on time, careful with my things (all furniture was wrapped with heavy quilting) and talkative to boot. We were handling an interstate move for our parents who were returning from Florida to a senior living community in Illinois. I agree the initial phone estimate was a reasonably pleasant conversation and the quote was competitive. The price was to include packing of Items as well. Moving On Up were the best value for price movers ever. My husband and I have moved 3 times in the past 5 years. We have had cheaper movers that broke stuff, and fantastic movers who were very expensive. Moving On Up were just right. The movers from Moving On Up showed up promptly at the appointed time, and I was immediately impressed. They got right to work and did not stop to take a break. Upon arriving at the new building we discovered that the security guard had left for the night and had failed to open up the loading dock. Great guys! Timely: Our three Quick and Careful workers arrived at 5 minutes to 7am- window was between 7am and 10am. They actually got us out of bed. They loaded up our 2000 sq. ft house and were on the road before 10am. For the second time Moving on up did a great job moving me. On both occasions, Euell and his crew moved my things in a quick and efficient manner. I just wanted to say how happy I was with my move using Moving On Up. I have used other movers but this last move was one of the best I ever had. The price that the representative quoted me was exactly what my move was going to be. The crew that showed up at my door knew just what needed to be done. Moving On Up, a moving company promised 3 men at 85 dollars and hr. 3hr. min. and 80 truck fee. Only 2 showed up. They did not disclose to me that when they wrapped a blanket and tape around curio cabinet that it would cost 80 dollars extra. They then charged 160 for the truck and only took off 5 dollars and hr for the missing 3rd person. I used Moving on Up to move from Florida to the Chicago area. I thought that they were great. After filling out the online form, I immediately received a call from a sales rep. I'm not one to give away 5 star reviews easily but these guys deserve it. I've dealt with bad moving companies in the past: show up late, broken items, etc.. These guys did not do one thing wrong and got me moved into my new place ahead of schedule. Robert himself came to my condo to do a walk thru and gave me an estimate.
