I am currently in the midst of a nightmare with American Van Lines Inc. #1 They DO NOT HONOR THE CONTRACT YOU SIGN! They DO NOT honor the so-called “guaranteed window” They will take your money, refuse to uphold their obligations of the contract AND THEN REFUSE to refund you the full deposit which is half the cost of the total contract cost! These guys are scammers, they take your money and tell you lies. Stay clear of this company, they will get into your account and steal money and will not refund. Moving day comes and goes and when you call after 3 different dates pass they tell you that no guarantee for dates even when they told you dates then when you call because you have to be out and rent your own truck they claim your canceling. Our move from Virginia to Ark was subcontracted out from American Van Lines to Boost Express Van Lines out of Brooklyn, NY. All were Ukranians many of whom were rude and rushed. Almost every box marked "Fragile' had broken glassware. Even an old butter churn they packed was broken in several pieces. Small pieces of furniture were broken. DO NOT USE! AVL has been a nightmare from the start. They pay for reviews, and I have evidence of them paying to remove bad reviews. TRUST ME! I will take the time to explain my entire story and provide evidence of their scam to anyone who wants to use them. I would have moved myself and just rented a moving truck but I have a lot of expensive farming equipment that I can’t afford to have damaged. Someone (I can’t remember the name) from American Van Lines called me back and gave me an estimate for all my stuff. They arrived on time and all my equiptment was completely fine. I want to take a moment to thank American Van Lines for its amazing moving services. I already filled out the survey they sent me, but I dont think that is enough. American Van Lines saved me from going crazy on moving day. I had booked services with another moving company and 3 hours before the driver was supposed to show up, the dispatch center called me to tell me that as much as they tried, they were very sorry but had no carriers to assist me with my move. Excellent Service all around. The only hitch in my moving process was the fact that the truck broke down in route so it took a week over the scheduled move date to receive my pick up but the company was very informative during the process as well as extremely reliable. American Van Lines was a very good experience for us. From the first time I talked to John until the end. John was up front about everything at all times. You knew what was going to happen at all times.The truck movers were great when they picked up everything (under a huge snow storm)They never stop or complain. I had the pleasure of using American Van Lines, via Adam Doctor in the beginning of January. I could not find one thing to complain about. Adam was able to do an onsite visit within 48 hours of my request and was able to give me a fixed price (most companies come up with an estimate, which is always grossly understated). American Van Lines is an extremely efficient, trust-worthy company to do business with. I have moved several times in the past few years, and have never thought of using anyone else but American Van Lines. Great Service. The estimate process was easy and straight forward. The scheduling group was responsive and timely. The driving and packing team of Johnny and James was phenomenal. I had a great moving experience with this company. They did a fantastic job and I would use them again in the future. We moved from Boca Raton, FL to Cornelius, NC on November 17, 2009. Adam Docktor set our move up and did the binding estimate after coming to our home to do an inventory. My relocation specialist was Adam Docktor and he coordinated my move for the weekend of November 5/6 and 7. The complete experience was great. Thanks so much American van lines for doing a quality move. I have moved 8 times in the last 15 years. I have had some very bad experience with movers. Not only was the bid competitive but the quality of the packers and movers were bar none! I was a little worried as always about my china and crystal, but the packers were excellent. Do not trust this company. Beware! They have just broken their agreement after being paid in full for the price on their contract. They are now asking for additional money after taking my furniture to their storage facility and they have $3600 of my money. I recently did two moves With American Van Lines in the past year! It was a difficult situation and moving is never easy! We got the same driver for both moves (Manny)! He was great! He called me when he was on his way and when he showed up! They moved our 5000 Lbs out of the old home and in to the new home in no more than 3 hours.
