Avoid this company at all costs. On 4 separate occasions I asked to be removed from their mailing list. Every time they said they would, yet I continued to receive their mail at least once per week. RUN! AGAIN! Second time in a year that BHG has violated our contract agreement. This time, they "partnered' with a bank to manage our loan. The bank reported to the credit bureau(s). I applied for a loan and all I did was give an email and phone number. I received an email saying they couldn't reach me by phone, but what comes next is absolutely mortifying. They offered and unsecured loan at a reasonable interest rate which is very hard to find these days. My rate is 10% with a 7-year term - no prepayment or other and no collateral required. I've had the loan for just over a year. Read your paperwork - understand the offer. I actually had a loan with them and paid on time for 36 months. I was moving to another state and had to change banks, so I reached out to have them change my automatic withdrawal to the new bank. No one responded to my emails etc. After the payment rejected they called and were soo aggressive about "collecting a debt" and refused to email me the form to change the automatic withdrawal. Be aware that for the first 3 years you are locked into a program where you can't pay more than the minimal amount. The interest is extremely high and after the 36 months if you want to pay off early the initial loan amount plus interest must be paid in full. Read More »

BHG gave me great customer service and put their proposal in front of me swiftly and hassle-free, as promised. Didn't harm my credit score and the loan is not appearing on my credit report which was the most important thing for me. I am in shock and suspicious of all of the "positive" reviews on BHG. BHG is actually out of upstate New York. This company represents predatory and unethical practices. I have tried reaching them via phone several times and been transferred to unhelpful, unrelated entities. The company provides loans. The loans are "as-is", and they do not hide the information. All loans are front-loaded (as as many other typical loans) so the interest-based profit to the lender is going to hurt the customer, with no hope of being able to pre-pay. I was able to negotiate a better rate and reduce the amount of additional fees from their initial offer.
