I would say we are a particularly difficult family as we have very high expectations and specific needs travelling with very young children. I have just returned home from a vacation to Costa Rica organized by a Costa Rican Vacation travel consultants. Overall the vacation was satisfactory. I was impressed with the efficient and friendly pick-up and drop off for our travel between locations and tours. I agree with the review below, that this service is very pricey, though. We had a great time in CR. Especially the hotel Arenal Manoa had an awesome view of Volcan Arenal, and it was only $160 a night. Manuel Antonio was great because of all the wildlife, but it's quite touristy. There are tons of American tourists there, and there are a lot of aggressive locals hawking anything from beach chairs to paid parking and bottled water. I could not have been happier with the service that Costa Rican Vacations provided us! Costa Rica vacations was great! Everything was well coordinated, communication was great throughout the trip--had a good contact for any problems we had during the trip. Very very impressed. We were treated like VIP's throughout the trip--at hotels, on tours, wherever we were. I just read the 5 star review that other folks have submitted and all I can say is "DITTO"! Everything happened as planned. The drivers were always on time and had clean air conditioned vehicles. And they really knew how to drive around pot holes. Did I mention they were also very kind and informative. The adventure vendors and hotels that Costa Rican Vacations selected were all great too. I booked a trip with this company and went on my trip last month(6/10). I worked with a travel consultant, Allen, and together we custom built a vacation that perfectly my interests and budget. I attended a destination wedding in Costa Rica and the groom used Costa Rican Vacations to organize the trip. Everything went off smoothly with respect to the travel arrangements. We were quite pleased with the booking experience with the travel consultant. She offered varying options as she sought to accommodate our party of four (parents plus two adult children). All accommodations were excellent. We recently went to Costa Rica with CRV and found their bookings to be dependable. Their recommendations are more along the beaten path than not.
