Years ago this Golf Almanac was the fist publication I advertised in. Also they do change their name but same scam. They told me that every golfer had to pick up this magazine to see the T times and all of the Clubs info. I was billed 08/16/2020 DBT/WDR xxxxxxxxxxx PLATINUMMILLENNIUMPUBL 866-752-9968 NC [$67.73) For something I neither ordered nor received. I won't be able to buy groceries this week thanks to them. We were contacted by a sales rep from PP who pitched to us an advertising op in the Golf Almanac. It sounded like a great opportunity at first but as we started doing some research on them, we quickly became suspicious. It all started when we were contacted by mr gaston and we had to give a credit card number immediately to reserve the back page of the Golf Almanac. After physically going to 2 of the clubs and speaking with the pro shops they said they do not have a contract with a publication of any kind. They called and said they do a publication for the country clubs and that they are sent out to all the members. Now come to find out they have no contact with the any club themselves and now all the pro shops are closed and now they say that they are distributed by the golf pro's. Big scam I say. I've been working with the Golf Almanac now for a few years and I couldn't be happier. The folks over at Platinum Publishing are always willing to answer my questions and have consistently put out a quality publication that I am proud to have my business advertised in. A few times it has been necessary to revise and discuss the plan for my ad and I have always found that Platinum was eager to work with me to get things just right. Platinum Publshing called with an incredibly high pressure offer - everytime I resisted the offer got better "if we can close this NOW." They don't want you to have time to think or check them out. My offer was for advertising in magazines distributed at several local golf clubs (including some of the most exclusive in the area). I called two of the clubs. Yes, beware of these rip off artists. It is a total scam. Platinum Publishing is nothing but a bunch of con artist's out to dupe businesses out of some quick cash. I don't know how they can make credit card transactions when they are committing fraud. I too was offered these bogus "Golf Almanacs". My company was contacted to advertise in a directory that is distributed to members of 3 local yacht clubs. Our spot was exclusive and was claimed to be "endorsed by the clubs." I too had the same experience. I received a call offering advertising space and was promised that it would be provided to the members and guests at 4 specific local country clubs. I called the clubs and they had never heard of The Golf Almanac and did not distribute anything like it to members or guests. I would be very weary about paying them for anything. I was very impressed with the service that this company offered. Kay Miller was really helpful with explaining how the ad would be placed and the graphic designers did a magnificent job. A chance for me to advertise to rich market. Very Unique! I have already made the money back on the small ad that I bought from the first job I booked through The Golf Almanac.
