In my experience, Jas marine overbilled the hours the tech was onsite, billed the hourly rate ($120) for time in the shop to select the parts, overbilled travel time (we are 2.8 miles from the shop), Billed for techs that were not on site, billed for liability insurance (really...liability insurance... that is a cost to be in business). JAS Marine is by far the worse marine service firm that I have dealt with. I received their contact information from Volvo Penta's website and thought I would give them a shot. I submitted a work order on 1/6/2010 indicating that I needed to have my drive shaft seals switched out. Once they began work they never called me to let me know the status or what issues they were finding so that I could make a decision on my vessel.
