Forest Trail Academy is the best online school I've ever seen! My son Michael is currently finishing 5th grade and we plan to continue studying at this school further. We are Israelis, so English is a foreign language for my son. My son goes to a regular Israeli school and is additionally studying at the FTA. My son was busy with religious studies during the day so we decided to put him in Forest Trail. I was referred by a co-worker who had their children in the program. We were very impressed with the curriculum and the teachers. The online course was easy to follow, and the system kept me informed via email on my child's progress along the way! I chose Forest Trail Academy as a way to allow my daughter to self pace at school and compete in a very demanding sport. I was thankful for the staff and their ability to teach subject matter that I struggled with myself. My daughter was able to graduate with a 4.0 GPA and received an academic and athletic scholarship to an out of state university. I highly recommend Forest Trail Academy to anyone trying to do something better for their child! Read More »

I am so glad that we chose Forest Trail for my son's education. Traditional school was not working for him. The online school gave him an opportunity to work on a few courses at a time versus all six at once. My son has a learning disability. The teachers were very willing to work with him. They seemed more concerned with him learning the concepts versus the grade. The teachers were great about grading on a timely basis. They were also great about communicating. Forest Trail Academy was there for us when we made the decision to start homeschooling our high school student. After searching many alternatives, I settled on FTA because their curriculum was almost identical to what our child was taking class-wise at that time. The office staff was very helpful and friendly. Forest Trail Academy was a fantastic choice in schooling. Besides being affordable, the student-teacher communication is fantastic for an online school. That's priceless and the key selling point. Teachers tend to reply within 24 hours and have you constantly aware of their schedules, including the ~8 or so times a month they have conferences with students (specific dates and times can even be requested). Great school, great price. I wasn't living in the U.S. when I enrolled in Forest Trail Academy. In my country, the education is sometimes depressing. Forest Trail Academy is a great school. I am a junior and I love how the teachers always respond within 24 hours. I have never had a problem that went unsolved. I like how FTA helps me challenge myself, work at my own pace and master work ethics and time management skills. In FTA I can work when I am most productive. I'm currently a Junior at Forest Trail Academy. Let me just start off by saying Forest Trail Academy saved me!!! I attending going to a public school my freshman year and liked it. I then started pursuing golf and had to miss a lot of school because I travel all around to play in tournaments, etc. I then had to do something else because I couldn't keep missing school like I was when I knew there were online high schools out there. Forest Trail Academy was recommended to me by my cousin who has 3 children have already been attending for a few years. I have a son who is 14 with Asperger's/learning disability/learns differently. Forest Trail Academy/Virtual High School of Excellence has been a great experience for my family. Hey, what can I say??? So far, this has been a lifesaver. Public schools, here where I live, start 7th graders to the high school. 7th-12th is high school. Now, you know that's not right. It's no wonder these kids are screwed up. Peer Pressure, drugs, sex, pregnancies. Oh, of course, teachers who have their little "pets", while everyone else struggles. Trying to with drawl my son from this school, They tell me I must print out sheet to do so other ways they will keep charging my credit card, I inform them that I do not own a printer nor a scanner and they basically said to bad.... My son took a summer school chemistry course through this school's Virtual High School (on-line)....The flexibility allowed him to work at his own pace and research the subject more thoroughly which resulted in a much better grade than the one he had received in a traditional classroom setting. Forest Trail Academy is a Godsend! My daughter was signed as a Dancer with a Ballet Company at the age of 17. She still needed to complete her senior year of High School. At fifteen, my son moved from home in order to play hockey. It was January, and he needed a flexible accommodation in order to complete his education. The Virtual High School provided that, and more. Virtual High School has been a life saver for me and my son. He is 16 years old and only had a few class credits. I researched online schooling and VHS had the curriculum that he needed.
